Does not ship until Aug 10th, but they already took out payment from bank account... Surprised to wait an entire month but still looking forward to the knife..
UzuzuOn a serious note, I love the design and look of some Mcusta knives, and have for years but I've been waiting for them to finally do something different in their handle design. Still, nothing
A word to the wise: Quince is not very widely available these days, get it while you can. I have one of these and the burl has a very nice luster and chatoyance. (LMGTFY: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chatoyancy#In_woodworking)
I like the way they did the pocket clip. I wish more knifes were made with clips like that. I'll be on the lookout for a flat ground sheeps-foot version.
DaveJFYI - Don't hold your breath for that; Mcusta doesn't make different blade profiles for their knives. Sheepsfoot isn't really a Japanese style, I don't think I've ever seen any Mcusta with one. Agreed on the clip style one of the better ways to do reversible that I've seen.
You will not find a sharper knife out of the box than these. I have two Mcustas, and their fit, finish, and sharpness, exceed any of my USA Spydies. However, the spydie hole version of these is hard to deploy single-handed, I would stick to the thumb stud, IMO. This is mass production stuff at some of the highest quality available.
I have 90% of my purchases shipped to my workplace now to avoid porch pirates. I just wish MD would stop using FedEx. 1.5-2 weeks to get from NJ to CA is just plain ridiculous.
NeWaVdubsYup fed ex sucks... I order stuff from Nevada to Georgia once every two weeks and it only takes 2-3 days with reg. Priority mail... wish they gave us options on Mail carriers...Massdrop prob had some deal worked out with fed ex that benefits them but screws us...
