I have 90% of my purchases shipped to my workplace now to avoid porch pirates. I just wish MD would stop using FedEx. 1.5-2 weeks to get from NJ to CA is just plain ridiculous.
NeWaVdubsYup fed ex sucks... I order stuff from Nevada to Georgia once every two weeks and it only takes 2-3 days with reg. Priority mail... wish they gave us options on Mail carriers...Massdrop prob had some deal worked out with fed ex that benefits them but screws us...
JTrubsHey @JTrubs,
Sorry for the confusion, we missed specifying that quantities were limited on this drop. We'll do our best to make sure the note is correct going forward.
You will not find a sharper knife out of the box than these. I have two Mcustas, and their fit, finish, and sharpness, exceed any of my USA Spydies. However, the spydie hole version of these is hard to deploy single-handed, I would stick to the thumb stud, IMO. This is mass production stuff at some of the highest quality available.
Mcusta knives are amazing. One of the designers is a professional bmx rider. I had a nice chat with him many years ago. I owned 3 with the thumb hole.
If you flick your wrist with enough force the blade comes out. Really quick draw with these babys
Don't hesitate, join this drop. You won't be disappointed
At 3x or 5x the price, I sure _hope_ a Sebenza gives you better service. Me, I might just be looking for some brass washers to replace the nylon, and maybe some loctite, for the Mcusta...
Mine arrived today. Bigger than expected in a good way. Nicely balanced. Feels rigid and smooth. perfectly designed pocket clip. Some hard edges on the outside of the grip which is a tad uncomfortable but not too much so. Instant EDC for me.
Does anybody have experiences w/these knives? The clips do not look particularly sturdy considering their elongated, thin and curvy legs. Usually I'll be all over such characteristics but I am a bit uncertain about those in a knife. They look like they bend real easy.
Desastor+1 on what @ploopy07 and @Desastor commented.
I own a couple of those; the fit, finish, and marksmanship is second to none. Tolerances are tight and bevels, angles, etc. very well made. I have read here and there about owners who got the odd MCusta knife with some very minimal defects, but that has been extremely rare (and Massdrop has you covered or after-sales!)
Sharp as a banshee, and very very pointy. Very (very!) easy to cut yourself!
In a tie with Maserin, MCusta is my preferred non-US brand!
