Product Description
Measuring less than 2 inches, the MecArmy IllumineX may be tiny, but it offers outsize performance. With a CREE XP-G2 LED, it puts out 130 lumens and casts a beam nearly 200 feet Read More
I got mine last week. 2 copper, 1 brass and 1 blued titanium. All work and are super bright on high with nice color rendition. The beam is very good with excellent throw for this form factor. Great price on this these too. Thanks Massdrop!
After much anticipation just recieved my light in the mail today. So excited. Checked the charge, removed the plastic disc in the tail cap and let's see what this baby can do. Give it a twist and nothing..... Opened it up and removed the battery to find the positive contact has leaked inside the light and corroded the spring. Now to contact customer service and get my brand new light replaced. :(
Not exactly standing behind their product; more like "Screw you, we got your money, your powerless to do anything about it."
I have yet to hear from Masked Drop.
So, MassDrop customer service philosophy is:
"We'll sell you a broken, non-functioning item, and if you try to get what you paid for, you'll have to pay even more. If you think we stand behind the products we sell, you are mistaken."
Thanks again for joining this drop! We have submitted the group's order with the vendor for the MecArmy IllumineX Series Keychain Flashlight and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.

TylerDoes anyone actually do customer support over there? I emailed my disappointment with receiving a flashlight completely different than what was pictured in the drop, I've heard nothing.
I'm very disappointed, both in what feels like a bait&switch, and in the complete lack of service.
Is this a high-quality organization, or just a fancy rip-off crew?
I want this, but I'm not convinced it will be useful.
I love my Olight i3S, which runs off one AAA battery and is only a little longer than the battery, has a clip for pocket or hat brim, and three brightness settings. Low and High are about the same as this MechArmy, though I use the medium setting the most. It's built out of Aluminu, andonized black.
I'm interested in the Blue'd Titanium Illuminex. More interesting material (would be my first titanium anything), possibly "disappear" weight and maybe actually go on my keychain instead of in my pocket, and it has the built-in recharging. The price is also lower than I have seen (USA to USA). However, the cheapest price is not buying it at all since I have a serviceable light already. If I buy a rechargeable AAA, I already own a charger, plus if I'm away from a charger it's much easier to find a AAA battery "off the shelf," I think. I always have pockets, and usually leave my keys in a locker at work but I use my i3S at work, so the Illuminex would have to be clipped onto something on my person (maybe my SAK in my pocket), the i3S basically hasn't been noticeable anyway. Weight hasn't been an issue. So really... it just comes down to, is a tiny titanium gadget cool enough on that Merit to spend $34 or so?
I realize that's a personal value, but I'm curious about what others would choose?
WhichwaydidheGoTi tail design allows tail-standing, something I use a lot. Copper and brass designs might be better for hanging in your pocket from a clip , or chain around your neck(speculation as I have not used either of those methods, but am considering trying them for some of my lights).
WhichwaydidheGoI just received mine (Ti Blue): The tail attachment design is actually more well- centered than the non-Ti, to hang straight for a pocket clip or neck chain (but the neck chain supplied grabs hair like crazy) - besides allowing tail-standing. It is very small and weightless for all practical purposes - I'm carrying mine in an extra/empty pocket for back-up - in case I don't have another flashlight handy when I need one - don't even know it's there. Good beam - no hotspot - low just a little bright for my taste - no biggy. The threads seem to be cut with the tolerances a little too loose - my light flickers on low, and it is pretty clear that the fit of the threads is causing that (but I also added lube to the threads - they had some but pretty thin). If it is tightened almost to the high beam the flickering stops. One more thing: One member (Toxic - see post/pic below) has had problems with a plastic disc installed between the lens cap and the body. I think this could be caused by tightening the head down all the way on high (not saying that was Toxic's cause). I recommend not doing that.
There's a design flaw with these flashlights: inside, between a head and body, there is a plastic black disc that protects/separates body's circuitry from the head. This disc tends to broke very soon, and it also disrupts proper head rotation making it stutter at some points. I have Ti and SS versions - both have this problem.
ToxicThanks for sharing this info! I would not buy then, seems like a bad design decision. I was eyeing the Ti version.
My other small lights (these all have the same OEM design BTW) use a soft foam disc and that disc does not break from regular use.
Received a defective, non-working product. Customer support suggested I make them a video detailing how & why it doesn't work, which I think is absolutely ludicrous. I want a replacement or my money back, end of story. Who do I send this thing to to confirm it doesn't work? I have never had a problem with anything I've purchased through Massdrop until NOW, definitely not happy about this.
