$70 is a smack in the face, this is just another example of how this company enjoys taking advantage of noobs. This is some major gross behavior, Drop.
Back in the day (like 2-3 years ago) I was buying these types of cables from Zap Cables and never had to spend more than $38 bucks for fully customized and perfectly made cables. Search around for custom cables people. Something this common and simple shouldn't cost you more than around $50. And if you're feeling a little DIY, get yourself a kit from Zap Cables and save even more money! Unfortunately, Zap no longer makes finished cables, but there are plenty of others that do.
Yes it is usb-c, but either the maker says they are incompatible with drops specifically because they draw too much power, or because the cutout will interfere. I've tried a few different cables I've purchased and the cutout on my alt prevents me from plugging them in.
A lot of talk about the price here. Hate to be a downer, but keyboards can be a remarkably expensive hobby. You can buy a $1,400 keyboard kit from Norbauer that requires you to cannibalize an HHKB to complete the build. A single artisan keycap from Geistmachine will set you back $150. The average cost of a GMK keycap set with all the novelties/accents/whatevers is around $250 — $250 for little pieces of plastic. And don't even get me started on MechMarket prices.
All things considered, a $70 cable peanuts.
AndrewRobsRead a bunch of the comments already posted here - this price is outrageous. Theres a LOT of videos on youtube about how to DIY these and while I totally get that you might not want to get involved in that, A) its really not that hard - I've never soldered before and tried it with my first able and I loved it and it looks great. It can be a bit time consuming though. B) its more a point about how a lot of people are making these, and doing a great job at them so the market should have plenty of options to get custom cables like this affordable. FWIW the kit you can buy at ZAP! cables is basically 20 bucks. Even if you spent another 50 on soldering iron and some other stuff, you could then basically start your own business selling these cables on etsy/ebay ;)
Dang, 2 days left...this would go great with the silver GMMK Pro I have on pre-order - does anyone know what colours Glorious are offering for their own cables?
diggergigRandomFrankP had 4 on his video covering the GMMK Pro accessories. Black, white, red and one to match their Nebula GPBT keycaps (basically looks like the laser colourway). I'm not sure if there are other colours available as I can't seem to find them on the glorious site yet.
This is an awful "deal" you can make these from the same site for $10-5 less and don't have to worry when it will massdrops will finish.
The people complaining about the price of a single cable just for the price in this expensive hobby. Custom keyboards are an expression of who you are and getting that one cable the accompanies just what you want to finalize a 300-1500 build is an amazing thing to have accomplished, with the cable being one of the lesser priced parts.
DrfearIs it though, rain is only wet when it touches something, so like a shoe is soggy once you step in a puddle or a drop of rain hits it but not before the droplet hits you, therefor water is not wet but the act of water touching something makes that substance wet
Hand Made, very little of that going on within the US of A these days ; )
Looks good, although I still keep buying USB-C cables from my Lindy Cable supplier. They're not pretty like this one, but they're always available when you need some.
Good to see some longer curlies being available.
