Has anyone done a distortion measure of how much distortion this would give you if you are only using this as a splitter for an amp?
Thinking about buying to use as a glorified splitter, to run to multiple speakers, without volume loss from normal headphone splitters.
General question here - I have a pair of Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro's, would this be powerful enough to actually do anything for me?
Massdrop has another headphone amp on drop - should power DT990 with no sweat....
Would this be sufficient for DT990 250ohm? and are these any good?

Specs =/= quality. Just because it can power something doesn't they'll produce good sound, nor will it tell us anything about the amp's build quality.
True
"...without seriously compromising audio quality."
That sentence doesn't really make me feel comfortable...

I don't think you can get a decent quality amp for this price, I'm not too sure about buying this. I might just go for the Bravo Ocean when it drops again.
Edit: I see Massdrop changed the quoted sentence, the cheeky buggers ;)
Go Violectric V200/V181. They don't need a license to drive a big rig. They CAN drive two big rigs EACH. I believe the 181 also comes with a balanced output. I'm no believer in External DACs and ultra high-res so I don't mind the "up to 24/96KHz support " Expensive is the only problem
looking good vs some other shit brands, a bit expensive but it looks on par with schiit built quality.
I think I'd rather bypass the amp and use it as a splitter / abx box. The case seems to be pretty decent for that.

That's what I was hoping it was at first, too bad :<
Output impedance: minimum 10 ohms per channel
This amp will definitely hiss for any headphones under 100ohm impedance. This amp is definitely intended to increase volume levels only - it's not a high end amplifier. If you've got some 250-600ohm headphones, this will work to get a usable volume, but it's not going to improve the sound much. I'd skip this, to be honest.

As far as I can tell, this is more of a powered splitter than something I'd use as an actual amp.
Been thinking of picking up something like this for a dedicated burn-in station. I'm constantly picking up new IEMs and the occasional full-sized can.
Monoprice is selling it for $30. Shipping from them would run ~$5 or less. For $1.50 more I can get it over night. Seems like this isn't much of a deal, sadly.
I think more people would be interested in the other Monoprice headphone amplifier that was recently released - model 11567: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=120&cp_id=12008&cs_id=1200801&p_id=11567&seq=1&format=2
Only one review I can find so far, on reddit, and reviewer claims it's as good as ODAC/O2. http://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/28pae7/monoprice_desktop_amp_review/
It looks almost the same as the Fiio E9, but another reddit entry says the internals are different.
Monoprice appears to be Massdrop friendly, perhaps a "special price product launch" here would be nice.

Excellent, vote added, now we just need another 200 people to join.
110 - 220 V Power adapter??
The second paragraph of the description was painful to read.

How far did you get? I stopped at "License to Drive a Big Rig."

I think my brain turned off after "this solid state amplifier uses a semiconductor to boost amplitude".
