Interesting, instead of helping this guy yourself, you chose to respond to me with some mealy-mouthed handringing. Do YOU feel better about YOURself? I hope so.
Also, your concept of "time" and mine are apparently different because every response I've made on this page has taken me all of 45 seconds...combined. Enjoy your day, proud that you've really stuck it to the meanies.

$19.30 in green on Amazon. 2 day shipping. Massdrop is great for ideas, but terrible for shopping. :/

What do you mean, all you need to select is the one remaining item in, say, pink and purple paisleys or pay 10 times the advertised amount for another color option ;-)

OldTrailDogHaha! :-) Alas, the pink and Paisley are all sold out, and every other color is right around $24. So, spend $23 here wait a month ( or possibly never as massdrop just cancels orders sometimes) , or spend $24 at Amazon and get it tomorrow…. :-p

Question, how are folks using this knife?
It seems quite bulky for such a short blade. It seems to me that carrying a regular Mora companion isn't that much more bulky, and you get the benefit of a longer blade.
I get that you can use this as a neck knife. But it still seems bulkier than what I'd want in a neck knife.
It's cute, that's for sure.
Do folks find this is as useful and easier to carry as a Mora companion? Or is there some novelty appeal that comes into play?

K.T.NI haven't handled this one but I heard that you have a very nice grip and essentially can leverage the benefits of a fixed blade (strength, grip, etc.) whole mimicking the size convenience of a folder. I actually like the look but I can't bring myself to buy it. All of my fixed blades are users and I don't think I'll ever use the eldris. A blade that short seems to have a limited use.
But like I said I don't own one so my comment is not really objective.

K.T.NThe size and shape do make it more comfortable as a neck knife than a longer Mora. Not everyone wants a neck knife, but I've found it works very well with a pack belt. My usual setup is my Eldris around my neck and my Garberg mounted tip-up on my backpack strap, or tucked sideways into a lumbar pack. The Eldris is with me until I crawl into my sleeping bag, and it goes back on when I get up in the morning.
The short blade is actually very convenient: you can choke up and use the tip (to remove splinters, carve details, make a controlled slice) without having your supporting fingers move up to the blade — see picture below. It's also nice and controlled for fire starting. It's not great for slicing large apples, carving meat, or batonning 4" branches, but it's great for slicing Leukotape, carving skewers, opening food, and cutting cord. Typically if I'll be prepping wood or slicing meat I'll be taking two knives, so I'm very happy for the one around my neck to be smaller!
Being small means it's inoffensive in a way that a more knife-shaped object would not be — most folks don't even realize it's a knife. I've never received a second look as I pass people on the trail.
The knife clicks securely into the sheath in either orientation. It's secure upside down even without the additional loop. And the Eldris has a pretty substantial tang hiding inside that handle, too.
With the neck knife kit you get a secure knife, a fire starter, and a place to tie a whistle — a great starter for an emergency kit.
I love my Companions, but the Eldris is always around my neck when I hike. My wife's setup is similar: an Eldris and a Companion, with her Companion hooked to the side of her pack.

Great little knife! Pretty solid build and quite light. Handle is nice and grippy. The blade is quite small but good for most tasks. If you're after something more as an "all rounder" camp/hiking knife go for the Kansbol or larger Moraknivs.

I rarely leave reviews, but i will say this is the most useful knife I've purchased. It is by design minimal. Don't worry about the add-ons, like the fire steel. My son made a parachute cord lanyard short enough to hang off my belt (attached with a carabiner and long enough to slip it into my pocket when I don't need it. The lanyard attaches at the bottom of the cases such that it hangs up side down. The case securely holds the knife until you need it. Simply grasp the handle and pull down to release it from the case. Other reviews talk about the blade quality and effective uses. Love this knife.

bardbuAny complaints with the edge rolling? I hear it's a problem with this knife.

TasselhoffNo edge rolling issues, but i'm probably not putting it thru the abuse some others are. I use it primarily as a utility knife. Cutting rope or thick branches, prying things, etc. Nothing too punishing. I've had this one for several months and there are no flaws on the edge. Great little knife.

This is a terrible drop. These are under $22 (vs the current price of $22.99) right now on Amazon, not to mention 1) you pay shipping on MassDrop, and 2) long ship times. Unless you can't get Amazon to ship to you, I don't see why you'd get this here.

Shipping is more than a third of the price of the item. No thanks, especially when it takes nearly 3 weeks to be sent. Got mine (kit) for $42 and free shipping to Australia and already been sent. Yay!

Can you carry this in England, or does the hyper socialist nanny state ban even a tiny little stubby fully covered blade?

For $35.99 that’s more than what I paid on amazon for a black Eldridge with neck kit and fire starter. Just saying. Plus for me it was free shipping.
