Can we pretty please have strappettes as an add on to the drop?
Amazon Au wants 50$Aud delivered for them.....
I own the day pack, so id you plan on taking more than 5lbs of stuff in this bag you really should pay the extra 20 for the straps, I love my day pack, but sometimes i wonder if i should have just bought a bigger bag for the same price that has shoulder straps already...aka backpack.
I have this pack already, and would strongly advise adding both the strapettes as others have suggested, and Mountainsmith also has a rain cover for it which I also advise getting as the Cordura is really strong, but not waterproof.
Looks like this is a men's (hip belt is straight up/down). Does anyone know of a similar product for women or that could be used by women (yes, I realize some women are more straight up/down but most have "hips").
I'm looking to try a lumbar pack for day hikes or short overnights. Any tips appreciated! Thanks!

Mountainsmith Tour WSD(Women’s Specific Design)? But it’s a little smaller... https://mountainsmith.com/tour-wsd-lumbar-pack.html
Neuspoc
Ouch! 6L... I've been reducing my gear's volume, but that's a bit too small :-O Thanks for the tip though :-)
Does anyone know if the tablet sleeve will hold a Microsoft Surface? Or even better, does anyone know the dimensions of the tablet sleeve. It's a little vague.
If I can find a pack that holds my work computer (MS Surface) to use for EDC and the trail, I'd be in.
Brady
It's effectively 12"x11.75". I have a Day (don't know the difference between a Day and Day TLS), but that's what I measure the "sleeve" by. It's really just a padded slot in the main compartment.
Please offer the shoulder straps again and I'll buy it in a heartbeat
please can you drop "strapettes" or add drop...?
Dery_Live
I agree, if there addition option for "strapettes". There will be a lot more order coming in.
Dery_Live
Yes please add these to the next drop!!!!!!
This drop is perfect timing. I have to travel abroad in a couple months, and I’m planning on packing light (only the essentials), and this bag is sitting in my Amazon cart ready to order.
I already have the Mountainsmith Tour (the smaller version of this bag) and I love it for daily commuting and scouting in the woods.
I would highly recommend that people get Mountainsmith’s “Strappettes” shoulder straps, especially with this bigger pack. Even with the smaller pack, [if you have the bag loaded], it will lean back and pull on your lower back and cause lower back discomfort. The Strappettes will pull the top of the bag closer to your back, while distributing [some] of the weight to your shoulders.
Hey All, im thinking of one for bino astronomy. Im at a point where ijust cant drag my amazing celestron telescope everywhere anymore (age n injuries) so im looking at downsizing. I have a lightdaypack n a couple of 3 n 5 day Osprey packs... but this looks like it can take a good set of solar n nighttime binoculars plus a 35mm camera. All depends on cost, imho, as quality looks good (youtube, like everything else)... thoughts?

I have one and it should be OK for those purposes. the effective interior size is about 4" in width by 12 x 12. I right now have a Marmot Precip, emergency poncho, the Day rain cover, and other things in side and although the room is mostly gone, I could still stuff some other things in there. Don't forget it also has two water bottle pockets and hip belt pockets as well.
Bought this pack on the last drop. It is a fantastic pack, I use it everyday as my EDC bag; just buy the stappettes though.

I got mine off ebay
I sewed on a small Velcro loop patch, I needed to use a large needle as the codura fabric is fairly tough.
Too bad it's not the Tour version. I already have that in my cart on Amazon.
Fantastic pack, great for when you don't need a full sized daypack. I use mine all the time with the strappettes.
Great pack from a great company. I have used their products for many years.
Will the strappettes be available too?
Memphischuck
you can get them on amazon pretty cheap
What color is shown in the Massdrop taken images?

Thank you all very much.
My wife got me the most awful diaper bag. Gonna get this to replace it and pull double duty as a fishing pack. Wanted one for a while. Great price.

Nice pack, I picked it up on a previous drop. Ordered the strapettes from Amazon. Can't wait to use it this summer. The light version looks pretty cool but don't think it would have the durability of this pack. Very well built!
This looks like a wonderful product but they have a "light" version as well. I was wondering if there is interest in the community to do a drop of Mountainsmith's Daylight pack: http://mountainsmith.com/products/all-lumbar-packs/daylight-451.html
Slightly less capacity, but weighs only 14 ounces and packs into a pocket. Looks like it would stow nicely in your main pack for use as a daybag or summit pack.

No huckleberry color again?!!!
Is there any knowledge if this pack could be viable as a geologists daypack, for field trips etc.?
Metatronic
I reckon it would be perfect for that use , especially with the strapettes.
Very thankful to have received this package. It is my second massdrop and it arrived way sooner than my first. Careful fellow Canadians. The $20 shipping is doubled when you have to pay customs on pickup at the post office.
Hey Everyone - This is a brand-new Day TLS Lumbar Pack from Mountainsmith. It's so new that it's not even on their website yet. You can read an excellent review here http://engearment.com/gear/mountainsmith-day-pack/
Unfortunately we don't have the Strapettes available this time as an option - Mountainsmith is plum out. This is a nice add-on and can still be found elsewhere on sale http://amzn.to/2f0NGhF

You're absolutely right, @T_Good - Mountainsmith has updated their website to show the most current model. Thanks for the link. How do you like your lumbar pack?
DannyMilks
I haven't had a chance to field test it yet, but it is very well built, and looks like it will work well how I was thinking I would use it. I won't be using it as a fanny pack, but more like a standard soft briefcase, with the hip and shoulder straps tucked in. Only small gripe I have right now is the PALS webbing is just far enough apart to not fit most small admin pouches that I would be tacking on.
As a side note, please petition Mountainsmith to drop their "Adventure Office Large" here. http://mountainsmith.com/activities/commuting/adventure-office-large-messenger-bag.html An "Adventure Office Medium" would be spot-on for my main use case. Their "Small" version is a different design. Perhaps they could market test a "Medium" variant here.

I really like the tan colour and the design of this bag. Does Mountain Smith make a tramping bag with a similar design and colour?
