Just got my SmartPack today. The reason I got it was so that I could have a backpack that had the laptop compartment seperated and placed away from the main compartment because I think it was the reason why my past laptops were having problems while carrying lots of books; plus having the powerbank made it where I didn't have to worry about my laptop dying on me during class. The only thing I was worried about was the main compartment not being big enough and since there are rarely any images or videos of this thing online, all I know is that it can fit a camera bag. As you can see below, I was able to fit 2 small books, 1 study Bible, 1 textbook, and 2 one-and-a-half inch binders without it putting strain on the Volt powerbank or my 15.6" MSI Stealth Thin. The only problem from this is that you can see the front of the backpack bulging out from it, so I wouldn't recommend putting anything fragile there if you are going to stuff it.
It does not come with the Solar Charger. In fact its not available right now even directly through Naztech as there is a QC issue on the Solar Panel and the new production run is about 10-12 weeks out.
How does the usb on the backpack work? Is it a seperate power bank or do you need to use the one included? I saw the picture with a phone plugged in, and just wanted to know
stevlngrYou will see that internally there is a wiring harness that connects to an external USB type "A" connector. The Powerback sits in a pocket. I hope this answers your question.
Just got mine today. Seems decent quality. Time will tell. My Swiss Gear lasted me nearly 4 years. I am trying to register on the site per the included "Register now" card, but it's requiring an Amazon order ID to even register. Is there a registration for Massdrop participants?
On a side note, about shipping, the box was nearly destroyed, and the power bank's box was ripped in half. Had I paid for shipping, I would be disappointed with the shipper.
LOL. While I do work for AKRacing now. I was the Senior Buying Manager for Tech at Massdrop for almost 4 years. So, I am still hanging around the community just helping out.
In fact you can still find my profile listed here....

As far as getting an AKRacing chair is concerned look no further than Massdrop. They list all the products we offer and at the best prices you can find anywhere.
DetroitCW - I would like to thank Brian for bringing this to my attention! I just sent a message to the VP at Naztech to look into your problem. He should be getting to you soon.
Have a great holiday!
Steve
I am looking at buying this and in the photo descriptions it states "SmartPack Black & Volt Powerstation w/AC Outlet (+$40)" which should be $119.99 but when I get to checkout my total is $179.99 which is $60 over your advertised price!!!
So sad that international shipping isn't available. I'm living in the Netherlands and there are so many SICK deals going on here. Sadly I we don't have such deals over here.
As a Canadian in need of a new backpack, I'd love it if international shipping were available on this item. I can't seem to find any option to get this backpack shipped to Canada from other sites, including Naztech's site.
I am constantly traveling and always carrying 2 laptops (work, and personal) was wondering if you can store 2 laptops in the backpack comfortably or will it be to tight?
thanks
