The Nextorch E51 (Updated for 2019) can pump out up to 1,400 lumens and cast a beam as far as 200 meters—but you wouldn’t know it looking at its small stature. At just 5 inches long, it’s small enough to easily take on the go, which is easy given the included pocket clip Read More
1,000 lumens and USB charging for $35 seems like quite the bargain compared to similar lights by Fenix, Nitecore, etc. I don't know anything about Nextorch. Anyone care to chime in as far as reliability, warranty support, and overall quality?
LateralusI always go back to my eagle eye x2r that I got for around $15. I’d be curious what nextorch customer service is like. Sometimes that’s worth paying for.
Spot on, a Nichia emitter and an ability to start on a low setting would really make this one for me.
I've got one, it's great, and I really like the way the body is constructed, it doesn't have any hideous crenellations, it's rounded and feels good, like it was made to be carried and used as a light and not as a backup skullcrusher.
First and last comment on drop. I truly believe now that drop makes up half of these “drops” knowing they will never be fulfilled. Why? Interest free loans for months. They really do suck at everything now from customer support to fulfilling orders. I quit!!!
DropsucdropreallysucksI agree with you entirely. I have gotten nothing but the run-a-round with my customer support tickets on this DROP. I sent in another ticket again asking for information, and almost immediately got this reply back (which was a surprise):
"Hello,
Thank you for contacting Drop Community Support. I apologize for the delay in getting a response to you on this. We have recently received an increased volume of support emails and are currently working through a large backlog in order of date received.
I'm flagging this to my logistics team so we can get a new ship date for everyone. We apologize for the delay.
Sincerely, Drop Community Support"
That was on the 10th of July, and I have not yet heard anything back on this.
I just put in my "Unsatisfactory Response" to this customer service email, probably again to no avail -
"Resolution is unsatisfactory" because there has been no resolution for this DROP. There was over 760 orders for this DROP, and no one has been satisfied or received any cognizant and supportive responses from anyone at DROP.. We can get absolutely no valid responses from Customer Support. Either Customer Support does not answer timely, or they make up some undelivered email that was never delivered to any of the DROP participants, or they promise to send the issue to "Logistics" and either that never happens or "Logistics" turns out to be another non-existent group at DROP.
This has turned out to be nothing more than a ruse to get an interest-free loan from the DROP participants. A $35.00 cost, with a $3.50 shipping/handling fee and taxes puts this DROP at around $41.00 per flashlight. 746 flashlights were apparently sold on this DROP making this around a $30,586 interest-free loan.
DROP, just how long were you going to string along the DROP participants on this apparent non-existent DROP ?
If I do not receive within 3 days, as well as all participants, receive a valid explanation of this DROP's reasons for the constant delays with no explanations or notice, I am going to cancel this DROP and get my money back. Then I am going to put in a Complaint with the California Attorney General's Office about unethical business practices of financing your operations on the apparent interest-free loans from the members of DROP, and follow-up by making a complaint to the BBB of California.
DROP, this lack of customer services has got to be intentional, as when you were MassDrop, this never happened to me before, and I almost never saw this in any discussions on any other products. While now being DROP, it seems to be a common theme...."
I will give customer support 3 more days to respond, then I am cancelling my participation in this DROP, documenting this entire process to the Attorney General's Office of California and making a complaint to the BBB of California.
I believe I am finished with DROP. I truly believe the customer Support staff at DROP means well, but their hands are tied by their management. Without Management Support or maybe direct orders from them to fleece DROP's members of their money for as long as they can, it is hard for any Customer Support to be effective.
I blame this squarely on DROP's management.
I also encourage you to also do the same thing I will do. Only when we, the consumers of DROP's services, take a stand on their shoddy business practices will Management know they are fighting a losing battle and maybe make the right choice and be what MassDrop used to be.
Good luck to everyone. May everyone be safe and stay healthy.
mike.friedkinI ordered mine sometime in July and received it today, August 31.
works fine so far, but I can’t figure out where the two separately package O-rings go.
LunkI have also not gotten mine from the May run either. I guess Drop needs another interest free loan from their customers. Do NOT order this flashlight from DROP. You will 1st) never get it, and 2nd) become very dismayed at their new and improved 2020 customer service.
I actually contacted Nextorch directly about this and only recently has the V2 become available here in the States. You can order directly from NexTorch for $40 shipped. They also said they knew nothing about the company Drop offering the V2's in a drop. This was several weeks ago, so Drop may have decided to actually work with the vendor now.
Maybe they got this cleared up. Maybe not.
EdolinProbably battery shipping policies, also send questions through support tickets or you'll never get a response, the discussion boards are primarily for community discussion and we can only give you advice, but not answers.
Greetings All:
I put in a support ticket to see what is going on with this Drop. IT took Customer Support over a week and a half to respond, and when they did, they told me that everyone had received an email about the status. They suggested that if I had not received the email, that I check my "Junk" mail folder or "SPAM" folder. But since I run my own Enterprise Mail Server, I already check both multiple times per day. So it may have gone out, and then again probably did not.
Here is the email:
Jun 3, 2020 at 7 PM Subject: Nextorch E51 EDC 1400 Lumen Flashlight -New 2019 Drop Update Due to an unexpected delay, these orders may ship later than the original estimated ship date. Our apologies for any inconvenience. If we find that the drop is going to be delayed by more than 30 days, we will let you know.
If you would prefer to cancel your order, please contact Community Support using the “Contact Support” button on your transactions page and our Community Support Team will be able to help cancel your order up until it is ready for shipment.
I have not yet received an update but the 30 days is fast approaching. I have also not seen the V2 being advertised or sold here in the States yet, even at NexTorch's own website. I believe NexTorch may be having problems with this product's deployment to the States.
It would be nice getting a V2, but not if there are problems. COVID may also be playing a factor in this product's availability.
But no matter what the problem is, there is no excuse for Drop's poor customer service on keeping their customers up to date on any Drop's status. This seems to be a recurring problem since MassDrop just became Drop. Maybe a change to half of the name indicated a move to half of the service. But no matter what I miss the good customer support of the past.
Good Luck to everyone.
Mike
