A bit of a warning. I (and many other) am still waiting for the NEXTOOL NP10 that was supposed to ship 2 months ago. Still no new shippingdate or update from the vendor.

If I ever had to use this for self defense I’d never think to use it for self defense and I’d just die with a pen in my pocket.

As an old WAC, I love the name! The Pallas Athena was the symbol of the Women's Army Corps until we were disbanded in 1978.

Compared to other pens meant for breaking windows and pressure point manipulation this one is good on multiple fronts. Doesn't look cheesy, isn't overly expensive, and is relatively lightweight yet still seems like it can withstand the abuse it was designed for. Pros: Lightweight Carries easily Good ink insert Good price to quality ratio Comfortable enough when using as a pen and when held for its other purposes. Cap sits nice and secure on the butt when using as a writing tool. Cons: Deep carry clip is counterintuitive for a tool meant for situations where you're operating on gross motor skills. Cannot replace clip if it breaks. Clip is super tight making it hard to withdraw and replace to the pocket when adrenaline is pumping. Cap threading makes it a little cumbersome when screwing the cap back on. Overall: Good pen for the price ($20). You can get better tactical-ish pens but you're going to have to pay around 5x more or have to carry something that looks hideous or be stuck with terrible ink refill options. I almost had to use the pen to extract an uncooperative felon from a vehicle and had to forego this pen as an option in the moment because while my dominant hand was aiming a pistol i could not, under stress and time constraints with my own safety in mind, pull the pen out with my support hand to break the window. That kind of negates the purpose of the pen, especially if you're using it as a self-defense tool. It sits too deep in the pocket, is too hard to withdraw without thinking about it, and the clip cannot be changed to something that works better. It's a good pen but in real life situations should not be what you rely upon if you really need something marketed for this type of work. I will go back to tuff-writer even though they do not have the ceramic window punch (which is a very good thing if implemented correctly and this one is so, so close). I will not say this is a bad pen though. It's very good for the price, i just wish the manufacturer took into account how people carrying the product would be using it in real life. 4 stars for quality to price ratio, would be 5 stars if i could have used it for its intended purpose when i needed it. Good pen, just no real world experience or thought applied to the design of the clip. Put some thought into how the pen needs to be accessed in the heat of the moment and it'd be a solid 5 star product. Not absolutely perfect, but perfect enough considering the price and its competition. Copied and pasted from my 4 star review

This comes with at least one refill right? Who do we have to kill to get the infinity Fischer refills by themselves?

When they use the term tactical, they don't mean the pen is tactical--they mean their tactic was to sell a pen to a certain, targeted demographic who'd be silly enough to fork over twenty-five dollars for a $6 pen full of holes. So far it seems to be working...

Wait... this is a "tactical" pen because it's made out of hard stuff with a hard tip? Huh? To earn "tactical", it should have a fold-out blade, a 250lm-minimum light, a siren and a retractable length of cord. For extra credit, an on-board hand-crank generator, a rocket-propelled grappling hook and a mini rebreather for at least five minutes underwater. This one is no more "tactical" than a Bic, which at least can trivially be used to pick tubular locks.
