I love this light! It's a nice weight in the hand, yet not TOO big.... I use this thing when I head out to the barn for last hay and water. It's wonderfully bright, at high setting, handy for blinding any racoons that may happen to get the drop on me from between the hay bales. Easy to work with.... I absolutely think the knurled knob for compartment access is wonderfully done. Even with gloves on. I appreciate the variable light settings,(for those times I want to show those racoons mercy), the low setting is right for nights I'm chasing meteors and planets....
Anyway. Great torch. I plan to buy another, probably with this current drop.
Oh, it's keen I don't have to have a special battery. Being able to just reach into that special kitchen drawer for the batts I need is great.

p.s. Wish it came with an option for a carry sheath.

I am impressed with the output of this flashlight considering it runs on AA batteries. The beam is narrow if you like more of a floodlight effect this is not a good choice. Having said that it is bright and has good range. It is not going to beat out a quality flashlight running on 18650 batteries but I can find AA batteries anywhere here in the USA. I really like the dedicated mode button and the instant on to low or high controls more than I expected. It feels good in the hand and is neither too big nor too heavy for my tastes. It has become one of my favorite flashlights and one I grab often.

Rock solid construction. No focus ring but it throws a nice beam with enough flood and a good hot center so you can certainly use it effectively as is. I could illuminate areas in rural night time lighting condition 500 yards away. Impressive. 1 wish and 1 miss... It's absolutely insane that it doesn't have + and - indicators, come on, what were they thinking? The back screw on cover is not keyed, it can go on both ways. I bet 8 out of 10 people will put the batteries in wrong to begin with and continue the practice as long as they own this flashlight. It was funny that I used a flashlight to see if maybe they'd marked it inside but nope. That would have made too much sense. Nothing a sharpie on the PCB board on the screw on cover couldn't fix. The wish part, this should come with a plastic cover for the lens to protect it while in transit or storage. Doesn't matter how careful one is, policarbonate will eventually get micro abrasions and then over the years start to dull because of it. It's an $0.08 cent part, include it please.

Which side is the spring inside the barrel? When it's dim and you can't see? How much of an issue would it have been to label the barrel and the cover with a tactile + and - symbol? That it hasn't been an issue to you doesn't mean it's not something the vendor can easily remedy that would benefit most people at zero cost to them.

JohnnyComeLatelyThat would be the side opposite to the side without the spring and you do have a point, that is fair. I very much agree with you, I'm more worried about the lens material getting horrifically destroyed.

Great light. Like the five brightness settings, 1 lumen level is great when not wanting a lot of light. Like the recessed knurled battery door. My only wish is that it had a focus ring to change the shape of the light beam.

It's so bright. It's like insanely bright. Be. Careful. It's also perfect size, feels really stable, good construction, the brand is well known. It's an easy recommendation.

Have had mine for a few years. Was bright enough to check for missing shingles in the middle of the night after a major storm. The only thing I would change is to make the threads for the battery compartment coarser to reduce the potential for cross-threading.

Glad I bought it!
Nice size, slips into my pocket easily and very light for its high lumen output.

Impressed
Outputs a very bright concentrated beam with only AA batteries.

Great for what it is
If you understand what you're getting (a AA powered flashlight) this exceeds expectations. Has good on time, and a relatively sleek design. The squared off handle might throw people off, but it can be more secure than a round one. I think the biggest downside is the handle shape could be augmented with better grip, and the "heatsink" fins could've been place closer to the diode for more efficiency
