I would generally be very wary of Nix - I backed the kickstarter, which was essentially the same as throwing away $100. The promised android support was basically non-existent and even tethered to a PC it would only work sporadically, and when it did the color readings were completely inconsistent from run to run. I know that this is a new version, but frankly given the product quality I've experienced and the almost complete lack of support (no response to e-mails, "fixing" a non-working product by releasing a different one etc) , I would be extremely hesitant to give this company any money.
tiekeHi tieke, Zach on our team should have followed up with each and every Kickstarter backer multiple times over the last 2 years. If you still need support please message our dedicated support staff at info@nixsensor.com or just phone the office at 905 581 6363 someone is always there 9am-5pm EST to help.
You are correct though that this is a completely new product. The Nix Pro was built from the ground up, with the help and feedback of the Kickstarter backers from around the world. So far we have units in use in 30+ different countries, in industries as unique as, cosmetics, photography, graphic design, interior design, automotive, food production etc. Our blog has a selection of testimonials from very satisfied customers that I would invite any of our prospective customers to read.

nixsensorYeah. That's what I mean by lack of support - didn't receive an answer to direct emails to you, let alone unprompted ones. (Did receive several telling me how to become an affiliate though, as well as some suggesting I buy your more expensive working version, so at least you have my email address :)
Oh well - it was a learning experience: you apparently learned how to make a color sensor (although unfortunately it wasn't the one you provided to your backers), and I learnt to never back a Kickstarter which promised Android support but doesn't have an Android phone demo. (There's no way you can claim that the original sensor is anything but an unsupported paperweight for your Android backers).
This new sensor is probably fine, so my remarks are only pertinent to the support and integrity side of your company.
tiekeHi tieke, We greatly appreciate the feedback and the support of all the Kickstarter backers through this crazy journey. Without you guys, none of this would have been possible. I'd still like to talk to you to see what we can do to help you directly. Can you call our office at 905 581 6363?
