Say, how can it be for balanced headphones if there are only 3 pins on the XLR plug? That's 1 gnd, 1 left and 1 right. No balance here unless it's mono, which no audiophile headphones have.

SirCapnTatesYou need two of these amps in order to run your headphones as balanced. So your headphone cable needs to be terminated in dual 3pin XLR. These are monoblocks (or can be used as single amp)...each amp will feed an earcup essentially.
