This or the xDuoo XD-05 DAC/Amp drop? I'll be mainly using this with my PC and Monoprice M560's.....

d00msay3r3Neither. At least get the Fulla 2. Imo, the Fiio q1 Mark II, or even the E10K, beat both of these.

d00msay3r3I got the xDuoo XD-05 and i love it. Solid, sounds great, good battery life. I plan to do the Burson op amp upgrade off of eBay once it's paid for in full (credit Card). I got to tinker ...right?

HifiHeroI don't know about this NuForce (which is why I'm here reading these), but if my M1060's are any indication, I don't think the Fulla2 or Q1 Mk2 make enough power for the M560's. I'd go with the xDuoo XD-05, if you don't mind messing with Windows drivers at least once and dealing with quirks. Also wouldn't buy anything here you're not sure about as they have a strict return policy. The Schitt Fulla2 was very clean and was nicely plug and play, but wasn't anywhere near powerful enough for my needs and wasn't very flexible input/output-wise (I returned it and paid the $15 restocking fee with no hard feelings). I am currently testing a new FiiO Q1 Mk2 with android and OSX and although it's more powerful than the Fulla2 and is super-portable, it's not nearly powerful enough for my M1060's at the volume levels I want and seems glitchy connecting to various devices. The gain/bass switches are poorly labeled and placed making them hard to discern and the headphone jacks are insanely tight. I did test the balanced 2.5mm output with FiiO F5's and that combo sounded pretty great, but then I tried the F5's 3.5mm TRRP cable and that might have somehow broken the Q1 headphone out! (the line out still works and is variable). So, bummer. So I'm still using the XD-05 as my main DAC/amp (sometimes portably, and sometimes with a darkvoice), mainly because it's got the most power of anything I've used, somehow still works, and just sounds fantastic. It has quirks but I've mostly learned to manage them (the worst was last week when I left it on overnight, and then it wouldn't power up after charging - I had to fully cycle the battery again to get it to reset). I'll be sad when the XD-05 breaks, which feels like it could happen at any moment due to all of its glitchy behavior, like some old Italian sports car. And I'm not counting on any warranty support from xDuoo who never responded to my question about the battery dying...

trapnineI use the Monoprice Triple XXX iem's when away from home and I use my Monoprice M560's with the Xduoo when I'm at home. It has WAY more than enough power to drive the 560's (42ohm) and I'm a non pro soundman, car audio, home audio buff for a lot of years and tend to crank the knob off. I have had no issue with Windows and the driver and I even switch back and forth to my onboard sound quite frequently. I use the most current driver from their website. I can't say enough about it. Built like a small tank.

trapnineHow is the Fiio Q1 Mark 2? I am trying to decide between that and the Fiio Olympus 2. I like how potable the Q1 is.

trapnineReally? My M1060's and Q1 Mark II match like a dream, do you listen to a specifically quite genre of music?

HifiHeroI guess I just like it really loud. But only sometimes, like when testing headphone amps... I do tend to stay away from loudness wars music. The Q1 was very clean. Since the 3.5mm jack broke so quickly, I really didn't get to put it through all its paces. But I do recall cranking it to 10 and thinking it was fine but I wanted a bit more. I will say that I've recently been using an iFi Micro iDSD (silver), and sometimes I even put it on Turbo (4W max - and usually only with Movies/TV). I can't decide which DAC I like better, the iFi or the xDuoo.

RobKMIf you aren't going to use the balanced output, I'd opt for something more powerful. iFi nano BL seems like a better option, but it is bigger and a bit more moneys, so both have their place...

RobKMIf Bal out is a plus for you, then obviously the Mk II, but I have to say that i've been surprised time after time again by the Olympus 2, most recently when I hooked up my mod-house modded t50rp mk III's to it. It's not like it'll blow you away, but I would say it definitely has enough power for any headphone you may have.

trapnineI know i'd prefer the xDuoo, it has a soft signature that I really enjoy. Feels like you're getting a hug from the singer/ composer/musician.
