this is funny. received yesterday morning my "yakima" brass top, and in the afternoon the mail from massdrop.
absolutely love this top, especially as a homebrewer.
so i just ordered the copper and the steel one

laabsteryeah, i like this lens (f=75mm, 250mm FL) from http://www.edmundoptics.com/, search for 53117. they are grade 2, i think from the scratches on the outside, and quite cheap.

Bear in mind the Jefferson is the smallest top NWTops makes. The Yakima and Multnomah are a bit larger.

This looks great, but logic suggests a low centre of gravity would result in more stability and greater spin times. anyone with experience would like to add to that?

Also wanted to mention, as long as your tops are nothing like foreverspin tops (which I wasted over $200 on). 4 minute spins are GREAT. With fireverspin will be lucky to get 20 seconds

it-manHey, yeah were trying to keep the value high! We have had people report over 10 minutes with out Jefferson and over 8 with the Yak! The Yak is cool because it really looks like its not moving and just balancing when spun on a good spin station :-)

I finally found a use for the $3 plastic spinners. Rotating top holder. 😁 Looking forward to adding a Hop to my copper pile. Going to need more spinners.

Great little spinner!! My first one since getting a wooden one at Souvereign Hill about 30 years ago. Found the plastic lids off a margerine container stuck with bluetack in the centre, to supply a silent and reasonable spin time, however getting a 100mm concave glass lense was to go, 10 bucks off Amazon and current record for this top for me is 7:22. And they make an awsome sound when you first set them off.

What a beautiful object. I'm not really into tops but I have trouble resisting.
EDIT: finally caved in and purchased the copper version, as well as thinking about the Yakima Hop in copper. I don't even need a new hobby!
