Bring a rustic touch to your modern space with this linen bedding from Olive Wren. Made from French flax, then preshrunk and stonewashed, it’s more durable than cotton with a higher density—yet still wonderfully soft to the touch Read More
Wow, this is a good price for real linen sheets, anyone have these to comment on comfort? I tried looking up the company and could only find this: https://sleepopolis.com/blog/olive-wren-french-bedding-launch/
Seems like a relatively new company, so not too much information out there...
IKEA sells linen bedding now as well. $90 USD for a queen duvet & two shams. Sheds a lot of lint on the first few washings, but softens up nicely. We use a flat sheet under our linen duvet cover, so I can't comment on true softness, but no problem with my arms. I probably wouldn't want the duvet next to my skin all over, but I'm super sensitive about fabrics (most hotel sheets are too rough for me, so I travel with a sleep sack). I love linen!! Gives the room such a peaceful look.
So I looked to join this drop last night with 4 days remaining and only 19 units purchased only to find that the slate color was sold out in all three sizes. It seems to me that Olive Wren is not ready for prime time and this was a disrespectful situation to present to this community. I have no interest in the other colors and I wonder if this was just a way for OW to just close out remnants????!! I am out on this drop and will not be looking for this vendor in the future.
Thank you, David. We are still new to the community and weren't informed about disclosing limited quantities. We will be sure to take your advice into consideration. Thanks again.
AnnistromWelcome to Massdrop! Linen is awesome, and I hope the drop is a success for you guys :-) There's a sizable learning curve with Massdrop for both end-users and sellers, so don't lose too much sleep over this one :-)
Thank you for your response and explanation, Tom. That was professional and courteous. I intend to be "straight-forward" with you as well. I understand your reasoning and I am totally on board with your intent to find promising new products and, especially, new and upcoming vendors who are demonstrating impressive submissions.
I will say that I hope that you also learned a lesson from this experience and are actually more responsible for this situation than Olive Wren. One thing I have noted about MD is there impressive discussion when describing products and sources. My opinion is that a big chunk of what you sent to me should have been present in the initial product description... that this was a new product category and vendor and was, in essence a test case. It would have been useful to know that there were going to be some select limitations due to unpredictability of demand and quantities.
I was prepared to take a chance on this item and feel that I am a victim of this lack of information. In addition to saying, in effect, "no harm, no foul" and it wasn't the "intent" to make this a fail for me, I would like to propose that I be given a specific invitation/notice when the next opportunity arises to demonstrate that you would like to actually "correct" this defect in this initial offering... Just a suggestion of what you could do in recognition of how this didn't really work out as intended.. In any case, thanks for your consideration and I do wish success for Olive Wren as they look to expand and increase their visibility.
DavidLonghornHey David, thanks for your reply. That's fair enough. In hindsight, for drops that have limited availability we usually put a total unit count on the main page and that was left out this time around. Definitely room for improvement there and a bit more call to action for our customers could have gone a long way.
Once the drop ends you can always request it and be notified the next time it goes up on the site. We definitely hope to have more units available across all sizes / colors next time around -- offering Full and California King sizing as well.
Thanks again for your support and honest feedback. We appreciate it.
AnzialThat’s not entirely true... As a Canadian, for once I can say, “Way to include us, my Southern Brothers!” But...culturally and politically, we are gradually turning towards European values... We can’t define Canada and Canadian mindset in anything smaller than an essay. To simplify: we don’t know if we are wannabe Americans or wannabe Europeans! I’ll take the former if it gets me more drops! (I’ll take the latter if American political turbulence starts to interfere with my usually-serene Canadian state-of-mind...)
Anybody know how these would compare to BedFace? My dog tore my fitted sheet up so need to replace. I really like my BedFace set but willing to give another brand a try.
I missed the color & size I wanted, so went with the magiclinen set from that article. Excited to see how they compare to the old bedface ones my dog destroyed! And really hope there's no more destroying fancy sheets now...
am i reading this incorrectly or is there no option for a duvet, fitted sheet and pillow cases. it seems like i'd have to buy both a minimalist and duvet set and pay for two pillow cases that i don't need...
On Olive Wren, the Rivera set (the duvet set + sheet set) is normal priced at $225 without flat sheet, $335 with.
That's a $100 flatsheet, fam. Fine.
Here, they're doing the Rivera separately, in a $185 sheet set + flatsheet, and a $175 duvet cover set, coming out to $360. Plus $8 shipping. Did I do some math wrong somewhere, or is this the opposite of a deal?
Yikes, guys. Yikes.
neintyThank you for visiting our website. Unfortunately, we tried but were not able to offer Riviera set here due to technical limitation in setting up bundle options. If you are interested in our complete Riviera set, please visit our website after the sale. However, we are not able to offer mix and match in colors and sizes for our Riviera set. Hope this helps. Thanks again for your interest!
leannajanesHi Anni here from Olive Wren. We do offer minimal sheet set without a flat sheet at our online store. We will update inventory availability once the Massdrop sale ends. Please check us out then! www.olivewrenhome.com
