howvwhenSend it back in for a replacement. Mine didn't have this issue and arrived perfect (The first batch that I was in didn't have this problem). Have you tried to reach out to MD?
QahnaarinI really wanted to keep the watch so I called orient for a replacement. The person helping me wasn't helpful at all and told me to call Massdrop. Contacted Massdrop and they were super helpful, more so than Orient. Ended up getting a refund and buying the black version elsewhere since the drop was over. Good guy Massdrop. Orient has terrible customer service.
howvwhenWhy call Orient when you bought it at Massdrop? Everything you buy here that has an issue it has to course through MD and not the supplier. That's how MD operates and blame should not fall on the product retailer. Now if you bought it at Orient directly, that would be a different story. Even in the Sennheiser drops, everyone who had issues had to talk to MD and not Senn.
QahnaarinNot sure if you're an orient fanboy or a reprentative of orient but I'm criticizing orient for their quality and customer service. Why are you defending them so vehementl? If you read the watch description it comes with a 1 year orient warranty since MD is an authorized retailer. So why not go through orient when I wanted to keep the watch? MD only has a return, not exchange policy since they don't keep a normal stock. just keep your comments to yourself if they're not constructive or helpful.
howvwhenDefending vehemently? Did I defend Orient in a forceful or passionate way? Maybe read up on what vehemently means before throwing big words around. Really? I stated a fact when it comes to dealing with anything you buy in MD. Ask anyone who's bought anything here and they'll tell you the same thing. I've bought items here and always had to go through MD when there's an issue ( I tried going through the product distributor at least twice and always got redirected to MD). So I gave you a heads up about it. Chill out and stop being so sensitive.
QahnaarinGood for you for googling vehemently. Defending orient against an internet stranger is the definition of passionate. I'm the sensitive one? Ok buddy. So I shouldn't blame orient for poor quality control and I also shouldn't have a poor opinion of them for not wanting to cover a watch under their warranty. Lessons learned for the future I guess.
howvwhenWho said i was defending orient. I asked why you were calling Orient to have the watch replaced instead of MD and you got upset that they didn't replace it instead they referred you to MD. The drop says that the warranty is managed by MD and not Orient that's why I called you out. As for poor quality control , I'm sure even Rolex and the high end watches don't have issues... oh wait they do. So go live in you world where no product is infallible and everyone who actually tries to clarify things is called very passionate in defending a product when in fact I never said... OH MY GOD HOW DARE YOU SAY ORIENT SUCKS! They are awesome, etc etc. Now that would be defending it vehemently.
WAKTOSHAThe alignment was fine to me. If you zoom in, you'll see that the groove edges machining on the bezel ring between the 12 and 1 o'clock position is very poorly done.
howvwhenOh Shit, that is horrendous! That's the Chinese for you! I'm starting to think that Orient USA sends all their reject watches to MassDrop! Maybe you should just call James at Orient USA and see what will be done about it. Give him your email address, shoot him a picture. If you are happy with the watch otherwise, just see if you can get a replacement bezel. It shouldn't be to hard for you to replace. Just be careful and take steps not to scratch the case. If you have my type of luck your replacement watch will be as bad as the first. Orient USA's number is (213) 247-4523. A guy named James should answer the phone.
WAKTOSHAHaha yeah its bad. That was the first thing I did when I saw the defect. Sent them the picture above and they acknowledged the defect. Asked them to ship me a replacement bezel and I'll put it on myself. I've done a couple of seikos and one orient bezel mod before. They flat out said they can't and told me to call MD and won't handle it any further. But MD took care of me and gave me a refund. I think the guy I talked to was James. Oh well hopefully it's a one off.
WAKTOSHANice! Luck of the draw I guess. Good to know that they do cover MD purchases. The guy above was adamant about Orient not warranting MD watches.
WAKTOSHACheck out the Rolex Forums, recently Rolex has been getting flak for misaligned dials and bezels. More so than they have in the past. Never had any issues with mine but just commenting on what's being mentioned in the forums from fellow Rolex owners.
