I'm fairly new to the audiophile world. Would these be considered as having a balanced sound?

OpeeThough it all depends on where one is coming from and what one's point of reference(s) may be, the KC06's treble might characterize them as slightly north of what would be considered an otherwise purely balanced sound signature. In other words, the KC06 may be characterized as a bright sounding earphone. For a more conventionally balanced sound signature, there are various alternatives. For starters, refer to the following:

The Brainwavz M3 (currently featured on Massdrop) may also be a viable option: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/brainwavz-m3-earphones
The one I'd personally recommend, however, (assuming they fall within your budget) is the HiFiMan RE-400, which is currently on sale at $79, directly through the manufacturer: http://head-direct.com/Products/?act=detail&id=143

PolygonThanks for all the advice! I've already got some E10's in the mail, but I'm itching to try out all sorts.
