Inspired by veteran climber Hans Florineone’s free climb of El Capitan in Yosemite, the Outdoor Research men’s Astroman short-sleeve shirt keeps you comfortable throughout the day. It’s made from a stretchy blend of nylon and woven spandex, and features a UPF 50+ rating to protect you from the sun’s harsh rays Read More
I have this in blue, orange, and green. I loved the first one so much, I bought two more. These shirts are comfortable, very light, and fit well. In contrast to many outdoor focused shirts, they have a slightly fitted shape and are not boxy. I use them for yard work and hiking, but they look good enough to wear casually around town, too. Snaps are nice and easy, too.
I used this shirt on a 140 mile hike in California's northern Sierra mountains. It was extremely comfortable, did an excellent job blocking the sun, and kept me cool in the warmer hours of the day. My only regret was the short sleeves - I'll likely buy a long sleeve version!
I like this shirt. I agree with other commenters that it might run a little small for some (I’m 5’10”, 175 and medium’s a close fit). I’ve just used it for around town wear, but plan to try it for backpacking as well.
Typical of the REI type brands this shirt runs pretty small. Depending on brand I am either a M or a L. The L fits with no room to spare. Nice stretchy, light materiel.
