The best pants for three season hiking, buswhacking or summer mountaineering, at an excellent price. They're soft and don't trap sweat, but they're durable enough for bushwhacking and rock climbing. Excellent performance and great value.
Like the last guy- huge buyer beware- expected convertible pants. That said- pants are light and seem of decent quality but lacks pocket space. the front pockets are not deep at, would expect a phone/keys/flashlight to slide right out. Defeats the purpose of having a pair of pants like this.
i picked up what I consider a better pot of convertible pants at Costco last month for less than half the price.
When I bought these pants I thought they were convertible so I was disappointed to find out they were not and the color (mushroom) wasn't quite as brown as I thought they would be. I wanted to return them but after trying them on soon found out that I really like them . They are light , they dry fast and offer some sun protection. They have an adjustable elastic cuffs so you can pull them up as shorts if you need to. Great from kayaking and hiking very comfortable great for traveling you can get away wearing them for any occasion.
I bought two pairs on the initial drop, a brown pair and a tan pair.
Even though they are loose on me, the back of the belt/fly button digs into the skin below my navel, so much so that over extended use the discomfort becomes uncomfortable. I can't believe that the product testers/evaluators at OR missed this. They're now relegated to collecting dust in a bag somewhere.
Also the fabric snags on everything and doesn't breath very well. More of an urban/travelling pant than an outdoor hiking/activity pant.
I use these as climbing pants and they're great! Very lightweight and breathable, with plenty of stretch. The drawstrings on the leg are a huge plus as I like to roll up my pant legs when I climb.
