Persol has been handcrafting eyewear in Italy since 1917. First introduced in the 1960s, this model was a folding adaptation of the famous 649 shades—and perhaps the first collapsible pair of glasses ever Read More
Twice you cancelled the same drop! Really??? This was my first and last attempt to purchase from Massdrop, the $10 being loaded into my account won't make up for my losses regarding currency conversions let alone the disappointment and inconvenience this has caused. This was dealt with extremely poorly.
This has left me extremely disappointed. How do you become backordered on an item that you only allowed a limited amount of people to (attempt) to purchase in the first place? I'm completely done with massdrop because of this.
This was a master class in ineptitude. Cancelling the same drop twice on customers is bad. Over-selling products is bad. Not putting the right images on a sale price is bad. But not immediately attempting to re-issue the drop and start again for those who got screwed twice is unacceptably bad. This will likely be my last endeavor in ordering from Massdrop.
Very disappointing. This was my first attempt at using Massdrop (a.k.a. “Massflop”) and the only way I knew the drop didn’t go through was the fact that my credit card was charged, and then several days later a credit appeared in the same amount. There was no communication whatsoever on Massdrop’s part and if it hadn’t been for those of you posting in this forum, I would have thought I was the only one that had gotten screwed. I had just joined Massdrop and had referred several others. I will be notifying them of the horrible customer service.
Most people wear frames that are too big for their face.
The eye should be in the center of the lens, not above the center of the lens.
For people that do not have a large face/head, even a 52 is too big, a 47-48 would allow the center of the eye to be in the center of the lens.
Why no mention of the bridge size on these Persol PO 0714 ??
Without knowing the correct bridge size/measurement.... if the bridge size is too big, they cannot be adjusted (by the standard method) due to the metal piece attached to the top of the bridge.
Almost all sunglasses that come out of Italy are now manufactured by Luxottica, if you can find vintage Persols made before 1995 the quality is superior.
The 714s aren't built exactly like the original 1960s era Steve McQueen spec.
The problem with the Luxottica 714 reissue is the they fold differently and in a way that causes damage. The metal hinges dig into the back side of the bridge when collapsed (i.e. folded) on the reissue.
I've been wearing both eyeglasses and sunglasses for a bit over 55 years and understand what a correct and proper fit is all about.
Hi All - apologies for the confusion. Miscommunication between our supplier and the sample we received. We'll be ending this drop and relaunching it once we've cleared up any confusion.
blouieI see this comment was made 19H ago. I've been charged for this drop- please "clear up any confusion". What will I receive, and once you've relaunched this drop, will I be automatically added and how will I be notified? This has happened to me on another drop. The "bait and switch" is kind of a killjoy.
mankyHi All - we're working to get all of you refunded for this mistake. We do indeed have the 714 in two sizes that we''re hoping to get up in the next few days. Unfortunately, we let this slip out with the wrong images attached to this drop. Apologies for confusion and inconvenience. Please click request on this drop to be notified when it is live with the correct images.
The photos of are of the PO3132s and the description talks about the PO714, aka the Steve McQueen glasses.
It’s a good price for either model, but let’s figure out what we’re really selling here first please ;)
seanstewartPretty sure it's the 714 they are selling as they are offering two different lens sizes. The 3132s only comes in standard lens size as far as I know.
Still pretty stupid to get the stuff mixed up as I have the 714's and wanted the 3132s...
