I've seen multiple people state this might be last run. Concerned if I should buy a pair or just wait

KTMDIf you can scrounge together some extra couch change, for $200 more you can get the highly acclaimed Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Headphones which just dropped this morning. That drop may be filled and over by the end of the day... https://www.massdrop.com/buy/fostex-x-massdrop-th-x00

NXIPYeah, they must not start producing them until they know how many they need, or something to that effect. For me, it's worth the wait, and I already have K7XX and DT880(600) at the $200 price point. Trying to stop wasting money on the small fish and save up for something like LCD-3s, but I've heard nothing but amazing reviews from the TH-X00, and the price went from $500 to $400, probably because the last time they came with really low serial numbers, this time they will not be as 'special' and may not have serial numbers at all - but still the same sound quality which is all that matters to me. Though I did spend many a night dreaming of the X2s..... at some point I hope to know someone who has them so that I can AB them against the headphones I already have.

JayDayUmm... They were always at $400, even for the first drop, and never at $500...

lvince95Really, oh, well then I wish I would've gotten in on the last one at $400 for the snazzy low serial number. I thought they were $500, and then saw them used on Amazon for $500 so just assumed. They never show the prices of closed drops so it was hard to tell. Well, $400 is still a stellar deal for these, from what I have read.

JayDayI guess some people care about serial numbers. I, for one, never bother though. #1 is gonna perform as well as #3000. I don't value one over the other and couldn't care less I guess.

LxJLthrHa no, those are the best I have right now, but hoping to eclipse those with the TH-X00s, and one day with the LCD-3, if they ever drop here or I find a super deal on them somewhere else. But the more I buy headphones in between those(HD800s, Alpha Dogs, Ethers, HE-500) the longer it will take to actually afford the LCD-3s - but it's so hard to not buy them when you see the super deal on high quality sound, like the TH-X00 drop....

KTMDI grabbed a pair last night... But I am concerned about the reported quality control issues. See my email to Massdrop below. So far I have not received a reply...
" re: QC issues with the Fidelio X2 headphones
Dear Staff @ Massdrop:
I noticed that Philips have had some quality control issues with the X2. Some people have been complaining on Amazon.com about the dye from the earcups rubbing off:
"Great sound, but dye from earpads stains paper permanently By Robert M. on Feb 22, 2015
2. the thing that upsets me about the Philips x2 Fidelio Headphones is that the dye from the earpads stains things permanently, the stain will go through multiple pieces of paper. Two $90 books of mine have multiple pages stained before I realized these headphones were the reason for the staining. For this reason alone I would not recommend these headphones.
I included a photo of what the staining did to a piece of paper after 3 days of use and setting them down on my desk. And this is after 4 months and hundreds of hours of use. http://www.amazon.com/Philips-X2-27-Fidelio-Headphones/dp/B00O2Y2MZG "
If this happens with your Massdrop shipment, can I return the headphones for a refund and will you cover the return shipping charges if the headphones are defective? "
