Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

If you're concerned about the non-replaceable pads, I ultimately decided this was like the idiotic android argument (and I use android mind you) about spec wars vs. apple phones. And yet apple's phones are typically fast, fluid and efficient. Realistically, nothing is going to last forever, and unless you have a fat head that's going to compress the crap out of these earpads, once you've flexed the headband a bit, the clamping pressure is pretty light on your head, in which case I see the possibility of the earphones pads being worn out taking many many years which would also depend on your daily usage of course as well. At $300, this would perhaps give me a little more pause...but at the $117.95 I paid (amazon) and the $114.99 price here, it should be a non-issue to you imo.
Note- Recently I had re-ordered another pair of these (ultimately decided to keep the first pair when it turned out the remote cable was not bad) and immediately noticed that the headband seemed to be cracked left and right from the center. You could see the leather creasing in an ugly and unnatural fashion and I could feel that something was wrong with the metal band inside on both points. So with that being said, check your headband, make sure it's right.
For the price, these are a steal and worth far more. Enjoy.
