Elite Engineering

Engineered for maximum performance, the Phoenician Elite Copper Grinder is a premium tool characterized by it’s patent pending diametric teeth, exterior lobe-grip, and innovative threadless fast locking system. Constructed from 6061 aerospace aluminum, the silver 4-piece grinder is hand-lapped and finished to create a smooth, scratch resistant, burr-free surface. Instead of the knurl-style grip that most grinders have, the Elite Copper Grinder features Phoenician’s new lobe-grip design to offer a more reliable hold and overall comfort.

Note: This drop is for the Large Elite Copper grinder.

Teeth Technology

To provide a consistent grind, the Copper Grinder features a redesigned teeth component that reduces the amount of frictional force needed to grind. With the surface area of the teeth knocked down to about 50% of a typical grinder, the Elite Copper Grinder gives the flowers a good amount of space within the interior grinding pockets and eliminates having to force the lid closed. Made to mimic the cutting action of scissor sheers, the diametrically cut teeth offer a smooth and easy cutting performance. All the teeth contact simultaneously to cut out unnecessary ware on the grinder, thus providing longer use.

Premium Details

Made from 304 stainless steel, the screen boasts a mesh rating of 50 and sits in its natural state, rather than being stretched to fit the diameter of the chamber, so that it won’t stretch out over time. The screen is also replaceable and features a Fibonacci spiral inspired floor design. Phoenician’s patent pending threadless Fast Lock System makes it easier to separate and access the grinder’s different sections. It utilizes locking and unlocking notches that can be connected in any position, unlike standard screw thread designs that can easily cause the components to get stuck together. The grinder comes equipped with other premium features such as a thin polycarbonate Lexan ring that doesn’t break the strong N52 Neodymium magnet connection, and a bowl-shaped dish in the bottom chamber for easier removal of the filtered pollen.

I agree the Santa Cruz Shredders seem better engineered than this. This is all fluff and gimmickery. For a start, it's just an aluminium grinder like almost every other grinder out there, with coper _plating_. Add that to the fact that copper is _much_ softer than aluminium, and now it better be a really thick plate o it'll wear off, especially if the thing is, I don't know, grinding on itself for any reason. But a grinder wouldn't do that, right? Most aluminium grinders are "anodised"; they have a _very_ hard layer of crystalline oxide formed on the outside (harder than steel) which is quite durable in the same situation. But Phoenician, to put their vanity metal-plated coating on, can't anodise it, as metal will only plate onto pure metal, not oxidised metal. So, you end up with something that won't wear as well, and has softer tooth edges, all in the name of "bling". Coulda just milled the whole thing out of brass or something to get a similar "premium" look, but one that wouldn't chip and show silver underneath. Be a bunch heavier, though, but so would their $2K stainless steel grinder (even more so)... Not a fan of the uncaptured, untensioned screen held in with a screw, either, or the big metal frame under the screen to support it, which isn't needed with a tensioned design. If the screen isn't held taut it clogs faster, and the holes in it aren't uniform, so you don't get as consistent a separation of grade. That and all the material that will keep getting stuck on the support frame and require you to scrape out the nooks and crannies. The only real plus this has over an SCS is the lobed grip on the outside, but there are plenty of other grinders with similar positive-grip mechanisms; it's not like it's an exclusive Phoenician "innovation". TL;DR - If you want a more "premium" grinder than your SCS, check out a Green Shark (more features than this). This looks like something aimed at try-hard hipsters who've just discovered green.
