Can this product be used with your own recipe/grain/yeast etc. or does it have to be their prepackaged kit?
LeeSaltHi. You can make your own recipes digitally with our online recipe builder, but you can't use your own hops, grains, etc. The Pico machines must be used with pre-packaged PicoPaks.

Hello PicoAlden. If I understand correctly, if I purchase this machine and add the pico pro upgrade kit from your website I would basically have a Pico Pro. Is that correct? Thank you for your consideration. Dave

I went on the PicoBrew website, went under products, then under the brewgear tab. Dave
PA-DaveDave's got it. Should be able to find it there but let me know if you run into issues.

hi is any international voltage available or is this drop only for conus voltage units (110V) ? thanks :)
Er_NordicoHi, for this campaign we only have 110V models. For 220V you'd have to order from the PicoBrew website. Sorry about that!

Anyone who has this machine care to comment on how often you use it/worth the money over conventional brew system (I have a setup that cost quite a bit, why retire it for this?).
It seems like an awesome idea, Pico, but would this be marketed for people who are just starting brewing vs someone who has an established setup and method for brewing?
Can you make your own Pico Packs or, rather, can you add ingredients to the packs? Obviously some recipes you guys won't have.
Is it possible to make meade, cider, or wine with your machine? I am very aware the process to make these is not the same, but given the ingredients, can your machine produce them?

Pico Staff, thank you for the detailed responses to both @zmartene and myself. It's truly an awesome experience to hear back from the company on their thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. Keep it up!
I might take a closer look at the distiller product you're offering. If it does require the Pico base, I might invest in one for a friend or colleague who doesn't have the same resources that I do, then bum off of theirs for distilling (I smell some strong schnapps in the possible future).
Thanks for this!
Edit: I'd also like to add that the PicoPak maker is available without signing in, and it is a very user-friendly tool with a fairly nice selection of grains, hops, yeasts, and additions. If I did have one of these machines, I would have no qualms about creating and purchasing packs using this option. Nailed it on this, for sure.
GirDropsThanks for the feedback! Really glad it's useful. Also like your idea for the Pico "loaner." =)
Appreciate the feedback on the recipe crafter! Glad we're hitting the mark there.

Agreed, it's confusing because the Pico C is all black and the Pico Pro is the stainless version.

Is the Pico Classic coming ready out-of-the-box with the sous vide functionality (Sous vide adapter)? It is not specified in the Included section. I guess following your comment at https://www.massdrop.com/buy/picobrew-pico-classic-brewer/talk/2016880 it is included because the original PicoBrew system included it. Thanks!
quikeShoot, sorry I missed this question before the drop ended. The answer is yes, there should be a sous vide adapter in the machine for you. But if for some reason it isn't, just get in touch with our customer care team and they'll get one out to you. Thanks!

Sorry, this is the Pico Pro or the Pico C version? For the Pice and the picture seems to be the pro, but the comment said pico classic (pico C?)
JEstebanFCHi y'all, I'm Aldan and I work at PicoBrew. Thanks for your questions--it is a bit confusing! The model featured here is actually the original Pico, the machine we launched on Kickstarter in late 2016. Interestingly, the machine itself is exactly the same as our current higher tier model, the Pico Pro ($799 retail), with the only difference being the accessory bundle. The Pico Pro ships with two ball-lock kegs (one for brewing and fermenting, one for carbonating and serving), as well as a CO2 regulator and party tap. This model, the Pico "Classic" as we're now calling it, ships with one ball-lock keg for brewing and fermenting, and one lightweight aluminum serving keg (the one on the left in the picture) for carbonation and serving. This Pico Classic also ships with a different CO2 regulator that attaches to the lightweight aluminum serving keg, but does NOT ship with CO2 cartridges, which will need to be ordered separately if you want to force-carbonate rather than carbonate naturally with sugars (not shipping CO2 cartridges is due to hazmat issues in many warehouses). The consolation for lack of CO2 cartridges is the free PicoPak bundled inside! We stopped bundling PicoPaks with the machines when we switched to the Pico Pro and Pico C. So, in all, you get the same machine as our $800 higher end Pico Pro model, plus a "surprise" PicoPak in the same box, PLUS an additional PicoPak from MassDrop that you get to choose. All for a very competitive price through MassDrop. Hope that helps. Sound off if you have any other questions!
