Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. Sculpted-profile The majority of custom keycap sets are sculpted-profile (Cherry, SA, MT3, KAT, etc. - more on profiles generally here) so let’s start there. Because each row has a unique keycap shape, alt layouts require a unique keycap for each legend that moves off its QWERTY row. The Massdrop x OLKB Planck Mechanical Keyboard Kit is on the way to our warehouse in New Jersey! Once the kits arrive they will go through receiving and quality control checks. We estimate that the kits will ship by the end of June.
We are looking forward to everyone receiving the Massdrop x OLKB Planck Mechanical Keyboard Kit and want to thank everyone for their patience on this drop.
This is not professional, we're agree with the delay but not with the 0 communication :/
It's fairly gross how out of the loop they leave their customers here.
I'm starting to lose hope here, already wasn't able to receive this keyboard to build on time for an event, really hope it'll be done for another coming up. I appreciate that you want to deliver good quality as it was stated in the mail, I'm only surprised at how much seems to be going wrong. Not mad at you, @YanboWu, as it seems to be due to other parties involved, just mad at whoever is responsible for the spree of delays... What does disappoint me is the removal of the refund option. I will keep hope for a little longer, but if anything else goes wrong I'd really like to request a refund...
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Massdrop. While we are working diligently to provide the best and quickest experience as possible to our members, we are still currently experiencing a high volume of requests leading to longer wait times for responses.
We will respond to your message as quickly as possible and in the order in which your request was received.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

Especially considering they said this in a previous drop for this same item :

"For those of you who have decided to not buy from Massdrop anymore and those of you who are sticking with us, thank you for giving Massdrop your time and being a part of the community. I'm sorry again for the delays and poor messaging, and am working to try and improve and communicate improvements being made on both fronts."
This is from not even a year ago, and they haven't kept their promise.
Now, let's see how hard I'll get hit with customs and broker/handling fees...
Now I've wasted 20$ just to find screws that would be long enough to reach the standoffs because the ones they sent in the box were too short... Thanks for nothing, Massdrop.

I also don't have a car, work full-time and have a currently sick 9mo, so I had to go with the only place I could find that could get them delivered before next weekend. Believe me, I didn't spend that by choice...
I will followup on my end with the issues reported here as well.
I've had a support ticket open since the 18th
:(
With the 5mm screws, I was only able to get two or three of the screws from the PCB side to tighten all the way. It seems to be enough, but I'm afraid that they'll come loose at some point and I'll lose the screws. :-/
