i am considering getting one Planck, but wonder if anyone here could help me with some probably stupid questions:
1. how many layers could this keyboard support?
2. does it support macro: a key combination sends a string of key stroke, like pok3r does?
3. if yes to 2, what is the maximum length of the macro?
4. if i configure the number keys to a layer other than the default one, can I press a key combination to enter the layer, finishing typing several numbers (without holding other keys), and then switch back to the default layer?
Thanks!
justinyhuang1. The default/official firmware is based on TMK: https://github.com/jackhumbert/tmk_keyboard/, and with my modifications, it supports up to 256 (I think) layers.
2. Yeap! This is possible with TMK
3. I'm not sure! This could be tested fairly easily.
4. Yeap - that's a layer toggle, and is supported by TMK :)
justinyhuangYou can also use Easy AVR USB Keyboard Firmware and Keymapper If you want a GUI
https://goo.gl/U7SNjb Granted it only supports 10 layers and isn't quite as flexible as TMK.
