A little information from the manufacturer:
We buy the handle in China, the blade in Taiwan and assemble them here in the USA. D2 steel is one of the most outstanding knife steels available today. It is a high carbon, high chrome tool steel which is often used for the steel cutting dies in tool and die shops. With 1.5% Carbon, 1% Molybdenum, 12% Chrome, and 1% Vanadium, this air hardening steel (at 60-61HRC) has the ability to take a razor edge, and hold it!

tekjunkyI have recently received my first D2 blade made exclusively for Battlbox (lov'em so I am not debating the company) and man it is a beast with a razor edge similar or sharper than my Spyderco with VG10. Blade is 3" I think and it's hefty/beefy in feel with a nice bearing system for the flipper. It retails more than this blade so I to can agree for the price this could be a nice grab for someone who wants a folder they can beat up little and save the s35/vg10/s30 edges. Elmax is the next blade on my list when I can afford it.

tekjunkyHuge respect to BM but I've never cared much for their looks with the exception of a few. I'm still a budding knife enthusiast but I own some decent stuff and feel I can chime in occasionally (lol).
