The Proelia TX021 is a formidable folder for heavy-duty work. The star of the show is its 3.4-inch clip-point blade made from D2 tool steel for good edge retention Read More
Great knife with solid feel, no blade play and perfectly centered. Could improve on clip as it needs a little more opening to slip into a jeans pocket. Also the ambitious clip cutouts are very sharp, so rather than include 2 spare pocket clips they should have included one spare clip and one plug for the ambi cutout not being used. Would recommend and buy again.

While this is definitely a very solid knife, it isn't any "beast" IMO. The TX10 & TX20 (as well as many other knives) better fit that label. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it doesn't feel heavy at all. I wouldn't carry it in a pair of flimsy dress pants, but could carry it all day in jeans without any problem. The knife feels very good in hand and I doubt the clip is going to create a hot spot. My copy has a rock-solid lockup, and the blade is dead center. The detente is a little strong, but that practically guarantees you won't have a misfire. I love the hollow grind - based on a simple paper test, this will be a good slicer. I've never been a fan of polished G-10 even though it looks nice. Fortunately, the handle is well contoured, and the gimping on the blade spine is more than cosmetic - in fact it borders on being aggressive. No worries about this one coming out of your hand in heavy use! I've been thinking about trying one of the "Jungle" series from Defcon, and based on the quality of this knife, will probably try one. Speaking of that, why don't you get us a deal on one from that series MD?
Pleased overall. The action is smooth and lock up is good. The handle fits my hand well and feels good. The blade came reasonably sharp and ground symmetrically. Centering is spot on. Absolutely no side to side or up and down play at all. Came in a nice box, well packed with a case, two extra pocket clips, screws and a torx tool. The knife is relatively light compared to its size. I like the design overall. The Satin finish was sold out so I ordered the black coated model, which is okay since it’s just going on my loadout and won’t be an edc. I had $10 discount from massdrop due to an earlier botched transaction, so it was hard to turn this down for $40 shipped. I will probably get the tanto point when it become available.
Just a few small issues. The black coating is not even in texture. The top half of the blade was smooth as expected and the lower half was rougher on both sides. I don’t think this was by design. The knife will also get caught up on the inside of the case when trying to draw it depending on the orientation of how it is inserted. The preferred way I like it drawn out get caught up, so it’s in the only way it won’t hang. It’s nice that the pouch is molle compatible but when using it as belt carry, the snap doesn’t quite hold as firmly as I’d like. The gimping is in a spot I dont care for but due to the design that's the only place it can go. The gimping is not rounded off and a lil uncomfortable as well
4 out of 5 due to those smaller issues. It they didn't exit, it would be a 5/5 IMO.
I had considered purchasing this knife several times in the past, and finally decided to purchase when it was offered at $49.99 with free shipping. For that price this is a phenomenally good knife, especially since the blade is hardened d2 tool steel. It came razor sharp right out of the box, and easily shaved some hair off my arm. The action is solid and tight, while being smooth and easy to deploy. The handle is very comfortable in my hand, and overall the knife has a very high quality build. Very happy with this purchase, and would definitely recommend as an edc knife.
If you love a large knife , 7 oz, this is for you. Great fit and finish and very understated IMHO at a rockin $50 price tag. Amazon also has 3 optional colors with this beautiful hollow ground blade for $60. I defy you to find a better build knife in this price range. Cheers!
