If anybody understands how to make traditional knives, it’s PUMA. Founded in 1769, the company knows a thing or two about quality cutlery, a testament to its staying power over the years. The IP Paloma is a traditional lockback with a handsome olive wood handle. The handle is fitted with an inlaid PUMA medallion and decorative blade pivot. As for the blade, it’s made from 1.4116 stainless steel and measures just over 3 inches: enough size to take on most everyday tasks you’d encounter. The lockback holds the blade securely in place once opened. Open the knife the old-fashioned way, with the nail nick.

Founded in 1769, PUMA has always stood for first-class quality, which is reflected in its hunting, sporting, and outdoor knives. The company started in Solingen, Germany, a city whose name is synonymous with quality cutting tools. For more than 240 years, PUMA has impressed with extraordinary quality and workmanship. It achieves this through a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern machinery. Handwork is one aspect of production overseen by its technical staff, but more and more PUMA uses CNC machinery to improve efficiency and accuracy, and to keep prices affordable. However, PUMA still makes many products the traditional way—especially hunting and commemorative knives. After full production, each knife is quality controlled by a dedicated staff.
