With a sleek, ergonomic shape and a premium build, the QSP Leopard knife lives up to its name. Like the claws of its namesake, this compact all-rounder is quick to deploy, thanks to smooth ceramic ball bearings Read More
man, this hits a lot of what i want in the head, except the handle looks too slim. and sort of wish they had more micarta colors..... but on the other hand, this is preorder and i have mixed feelings about first batch knives. they can come with all sorts of weird unforseen problems, but theres definitely a 'first run' exclusivity about it
I've been eyeballing a full sized grip, sheepsfoot, for about 150. I've just seen it dip lower so I'll bite the bullet when I see that dip again... If not the sheepsfoot, I'd get the Ritter without hesitation
JaegerDI got my 20CV mini from r/knife_raffles actually, it was my first raffle (I've only won twice, fml) and I've been using it with a Linos kydex sheath as a neck knife
The Noryl GTX would definitely be a lighter/better fit for it but whatever, it's a hella capable necklace
Ordered. This one checks all my boxes for pocket carry: flipper, light weight, slim, tip up right hand, no thumb studs, good scales, good handle length. I Hope it is built better than the horrible Gerber Flatiron I got previously from Drop.
Yeah, I got a couple other Gerbers that were deeply discounted from other vendors and figured out that Gerber quality is not what I am looking for. But I got them cheap so I can toss them in the truck, or tool box, and not feel bad when I abuse them :)
Cheetokhangerber multitools are pretty decent. just look up the reviews beforehand, but the 'main' tools give you pretty much the same functionality as leatherman
really enjoy the gerber dime, arguably just as good as the squirt for 10$ less
puddnhead65It's dropping again, in case you didn't notice, wow that's like 60 days apart? I literally just got mine last week. The green is nice, and these are super light knives, very nice
Next time, I think. I was just saying that I couldn't justify a watch purchase because I've been buying too many knives; then I went and bought a watch so now I can't justify any more knives for a while.
Looks like it would make a good kitchen folder.
LeoangerWhat's the point of kitchen folders, I've heard of people doing it often, but a pairing knife just runs circles round a flipper as far as my kitchen is concerned
JaegerDThere's no practical point to keeping a folder in the kitchen. It's just an excuse to use that nice-looking knife I bought because it caught my eye. This particular one looks to have a better blade shape for impromptu slicing and dicing than does the CRKT I have above my sink now.
OmniseedI just saw the phoenix by QSP and might bite the bullet on that if it comes on drop...
They really love their birds, maybe I'll get lucky and they'll make a Jaeger blade too
The flipper tab is what's gonna get me to buy this knife, I think. That and the micarta and 14C Sandvik but I've already got lots of both of those. It's the flipper tab that's a little different and it looks like it may have a couple different ways to actuate it.
IDK about value compare to other sites, or shipping costs compared to elsewhere, but I got this on the last (successful) Drop a couple of months ago, and it's the best knife for 40 bucks I've ever had, the steel is great, and I love the shape of the blade, handy around the house for sure, much more so than a drop point, and the action on this is really smooth. Feels like a much more expensive knife to me...I would stick with the micarta it is a sure grip, but have not tried the carbon fiber, I just imagine it would be more slippery .
I would honestly put this right up against the Ferrum Forge models that Drop puts out, and at a ridiculous price, it has similar features with ceramic ball bearings, very similar steel types, but imo a much better set of scales, surer grip and warmer to the touch. I prefer this one in my pocket though I love my Ferrum Forge Crux as well, this is just nicer to use imo due to the hard cold titanium scales on the Crux, I really feel like quality is comparable and this is less than a third of the price so that's saying something, whether you get it here or elsewhere, I would get this one in my collection pronto.. the Crux is a bit heavier and you can feel the larger heft of the blade, so they really complement each other and this fills that gap for a knife that's just a bit smaller, the perfect everyday carry imo, where the Crux is a wonderful knife but not something I will carry around every day, it's bigger and heavier and just isn't as comfortable to carry...
