Ok so I have had this knife for a couple of weeks and have used it on as many camping trips with my kids. Used it for a myriad of tasks from cutting para cord and some bulk guyline for the tents to scaling a couple fish. Worked like a charm and was easy to use (as in easy in my hands). While it is not a huge knife, it has a good feel and for its size, helps you keep firm control over the tool! The sheath is ok for its purpose, I would have preferred a Ouder sheath, but after putting a few coats of leather conditioner, is beginning to soften up
Seriously stout little knife!
Came nice and sharp.
Love love love the Raffir handle I chose and it pairs beautifully with the polished blade!
Butt works well for light hammering.
Sheath is very snug, if simple in appearance.
Becoming a big fan of QSP’s designs and builds; high end quality at mid range prices - glad to see them in the Drop Spotlight!!
The horizontal carry belt loop. But if horizontal carry is your thing then yeah it works just fine. It also has slits on the loop to thread your belt through if you must carry it vertically but that it’s so poorly designed that it is not worth it. The knife itself is in the sphere of a Bradford Guardian 3.5, or Esee Izula but of the two I like this design best. Flat grind, nice wide belly and comfortable handle for large hands (XL hands would be pushing it). If you like kydex sheaths there is a maker overseas that make them for about $40 but they are currently not shipping to the US because of the virus.
This knife is better than expected. The ergonomics are very comfortable for my hand. It is an awesome slicer as it came out of the box. However, if I were to use this knife as it was intended, I probably should have gotten the G10 scales instead of the Raffir Noble scales. The RN scales are incredibly smooth, but not at all grippy and confidence inspiring as the G10 scales would be. Hence, I will likely keep this in pristine condition in my collection. If anyone decides to get this knife..., and use it..., get it with the G10 scales.
I love the blade shape, and handle scales (I got the Raffir Noble Bronze Moon scales) and is very well made. my only complaint is that the handle doens't quite fit my XL hands comfortably. It's very minor but something to note. If you like the design you won't be disappointed with the quality.
I have an XL hand but the blade feels nice in hand. I’m sure if I used it all day I would have a problem but it’s not meant for that. Steel looks good. I purchased one of each color and I think the blue/grey one with black sheath came out better.
This knife has became my favorite small fixed blade. It’s a very useful size and thin behind the edge. Fits well in the hand. My only complaint is the poor sheath. If this came with a nice Kydex sheath with a belt clip it would be 5 stars.
