$38.96 on Amazon
I love this game and was excited to see the drop (only played friend's copy and want my own) but when the Drop price is exactly the price offered on Cool Stuff Inc (where I can get free shipping if I get more than one game typically) I am saddened. Will have to pass.
Anybody think that the price tag seems a bit high given the qty/complexity of the components? I'm all for paying for a designer's creativity but I'm amazed this game has a $56 MSRP (and even the MD price seems high). Compare to other games that include a large number of small and/or ornate pieces, it just seems like a lot for some pressed cardboard, dice, and a deck of cards. Feel free to tell me how awesome the game is, admittedly it's got a 7.4 on BGG which is pretty decent https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/143519/quantum/ratings

Everyone I've played it with really liked it. It has a lot of depth in easy to teach rules and plays fast relative to other conflict based strategy games. $38 is a great price for how much I've gotten out of my copy. I paid more for mine. Check out the Shut Up and Sit Down review for more info.

I think this a fantastic spacial (not because its in space) strategy games out there. The design is pretty brilliant for (as you describe) some pretty simple components.
Just received my copy yesterday. Everything is in perfect order. No component issues, nothing missing. Can't wait to play it.
Thanks again for joining this drop! We have submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Quantum: Second Edition Pre-Order and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them. The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 7/20.
We will keep the group updated throughout the fulfillment process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 7/12.

Not saving much after shipping vs ordering from Amazon but thank you Massdrop for at least bringing this game to my attention.
Is this drop for the same "revised edition" or is the second edition something new? https://www.amazon.com/Quantum-Revised-Edition-Board-Game/dp/B00WOFWL88

As far as my research went through BGG, and various retailers it seems that the Revised Edition, and the Second Edition seem to be the same. That Amazon listing states Revised Edition, but the picture they show is the First Edition; as the Revised/Second edition states it in very small print below the Quantum on the box art. Hope that answers your question.
Would international shipping be possible on this drop?
Does everyone play to the end, or is this a game where it is possible for some players to get knocked out of the game earlier than others?
I try to avoid the latter because my game group include carpoolers and it kind sucks for a friend to be out of the game, with "loser status", and just sort of awkwardly hanging out.

There is no player elimination in Quantum. The game ends when one player places their last cube on a planet. The gane suggests the number of cubes players have to place based on the map design.

Thanks for the reply Taekkan.
This game is really great. If you took Eclipse, or Space Empires, or Throneworld and distilled it down to a much more simple form, but without sacrificing too much strategy, you'd have this. It's much faster to play, pretty easy to teach in my experience, and the mechanics are satisfying and fun once you get the hang of some of ship combinations.
No international shipping on this one? Sad... :(
This game is fantastic.
