So i've used this a couple of times now since only getting it the other week.
Things got some great stitching, super light and compact
So far i haven't noticed any damage even from sleeping on top of it :)
Only 2 issues is that its very stretchy, not actually sure on how taught It should be before I rip it haha
The rain doesn't really run of it very well and pools a bit as well.
Still got a lot of testing to go, will re review in 6 months!
tyler256this Tarp is great! it held up to 4 days of heavy rain and super strong wind whilst out kayak camping. But in saying that all 3 tarps we took held up great. But again the pack size compared to the other tarps was easily 1/5 the size of the others!!
Paige/ Danny Milks- any chance of more of the 2s in olive? I managed to check back just in time, there seems to be others who missed out. They would sell.....I know it depends on whether Rab has enough to allocate more to us. Hoping....thanks.
Great job, massdrop! This is a killer price on these tarps and I'd venture to say that the quality is a notch higher than most of what you see in the saturated tarp market these days. I have used an Integral Designs labeled 8x10 for several years and it has remained strong and waterproof. Picked up the Rab labeled solo last year and it is identical in every way to the ID product - confirmed what I suspected but for those who don't know, Rab purchased Integral Designs and simply rebadged the products with their label. Up until very recently you could by either label but from here forward it will all be the Rab product. I am so impressed at the pricing on this drop. If I didn't already own the two I would buy them here in a heartbeat.
CambellYup, it's popular and a good deal. Im sorry , thats a bummer.I got mine just in time I think. Ask Danny Milks if any way of getting more. It's turning out to be the most popular color/ size option. You wouldnt be the only person if they got more from Rab. Worth a try.
If you really want an 8x10 tarp and the weight of a 5x8 go to cuben fiber; but, you will pay through the nose for cuben fiber. Shaving pounds is cheap and shaving ounces is expensive. This Siltarp is an excellent value for a great tarp thanks to MassDrop........... Raggedy Man
Is the siltarp1 wide enough to pitch ‘teepee’ style as in the first photo? Is 5 ft wide enough?. Am thinking of it for emergency ‘can’t make it to the hut because of raging river’ use in New Zealand (where it seriously rains).
if there is no option or any chance that the grey/olive 2 tarp will be available then please do tell us... if there is no chance i will join the drop for the 2 yellow
Good news everyone, we heard your requests for more Olive 2s and Rab was able to allocate a few more units for this drop! We were even able to reserve a few units of the 2s in Grey. Very limited quantities so get them while you can! @Vajtagal@becalmerill
PaigeD@PaigeD & @DannyMilks Thanks! I've been shopping for one of these for a while! I just joined for a Grey/2!
My hiking bro has an Eno of the same dimensions. I'm excited to see how these compare.
