Lockup is about 110% with much stiction. Didn't come with much of an edge either. Not terribly impressive.

Looks great, cuts fine for most things. Needs a lockbar insert as there is some sticking going on. Oh did I say it looks great! More pics on my Instagram - jnem79

For those who want quick and dirty: This is serious contender for my new favorite smaller edc knife. Very comfortable in the hand, construction is very close to perfect. Action is good, but detent is too weak IMO (more on that below). Out of the box edge is quite impressive.
For those who like more detail: This knife comes soooo close to 5 stars, but really I'd like to give it 3.5 if I could.
First off, I gotta take off a star for the weak detent. No knife with a detent on a blade this small should be able to shake open and fail gravity assist laws. The cause of this is the detent ball stops just a hair short of the detent hole, so only the very tip of the ball drops into place.

(when testing with stop pin removed, so ball could fully reach the hole, blade no longer shakes open. Still opens easily with finger flick, blade flies open much more authoritatively, and still shuts just as smoothly)
The other half star off is for the oddities with the hardware. First off, the 6 body screws are t6 heads and are installed with friendly blue Loctite... Though they use 3 long screws on one side and 3 short screws on the other for some reason.
The pivot screw is a T10 that was installed with some unholy grey threadlocker from hell (even though they were nice enough to include a torx tool to adjust the pivot (and only the pivot, not any of the other screws)) Which brings us to our third unique screw type, you'll also need a t8 bit for the pocket clip screw...which is also sealed tight as a drum with the same gray threadlock. Both the pivot and the clip took heat and force to break loose....my pocket clip screw now fits a t9 bit lol 😒 (not faulting the hardware for that though, the hardware itself seems really good, it took a lot of abuse before just slightly deforming)

One other thing I found a little odd was the coarse thread on the pivot screw, making it harder for fine adjustment...but not a big deal as it operates smoothly with the screw nice and tight. Last nit-picky thing, I'd like to see a steel lockbar insert, especially at this price. I don't know if the lockbar is carbedized (sp?) on this one, and i wouldn't say it's sticky, but unlocking isn't as smooth as it could be. All that said, I really like everything else about this knife.
Tolerances are good, everything fits together snugly. Miling on both titanium and CF are top notch. Metal caged ball bearings are nice and smooth and ride on metal washers between the bearings and the handles.
Shallow cutouts in both the handles and the blade keep the profile slim without cutting too deep into either and risking the integrity of the materials.
And while the clip only uses a single screw, there is a notch milled out to keep the clip from shifting position, and no slop in that notch-work. Also, the clip does not put any pressure on the lockbar even if you squeeze it while deploying, which is a feature I always appreciate.

I'd certainly consider another knife from this maker, but would love to see a couple of those little details dealt with.

KavikUpdate : I fixed the detent!
Filed down one side of the stop pin a very small amount

Very small amount, couldn't get a good pic Left JUST enough clearance between the blade and backspacer when closed

Detent is PERFECT now. Can't shake open no matter how hard I try. Opening is even snappier than before. All improvements, no negative from the modification.
I'm convinced this is way the knife was intended to be made.
See pic below for green arrows; "shoulder" of blade now lines up perfectly with the high point on the handle, instead of sitting above it. Cutout in blade now runs parallel to the curve in the handle

This will likely be my daily carry now most days.
Leaving at 4 stars though, as I still think it needs a lockbar insert (been pretty sticky a few times) and I shouldn't have had to take a file to a brand new knife at this price

Well, I've had the Tactical Geek Variable X for about 5 days and so far I like it a lot. It has very good action for a flipper it's size. Even when I press down as gently as possible it opens about 90% full. I've never had it not fully open anytime I've truly pressed down on the flipper and at this point I've probably done that 1,000 times, lol. I seriously love this little guy. It's very difficult to see how well the blade is centered because of its shape and being single bevel. That being said, it looks so interesting seeing the different angles of the blade. It truly is a joy to play with and look at and examine from different angles. I've only used it to open boxes and envelopes, but it has done very well for me. I like it enough that considering there's only about 50 in each color, I want to buy another one. If the the vintage blue colored one on their website was available for $200 Is but it right now. I would've bought the regular blue originally, but I couldn't find it from one of the stores I typically buy from and Blade HQ have the black and the grey on sale for a decent amount less, more than 25%, than the blue was and the black plus grey is. This far I can't say how well it will holding long-term, but so far it seems very good and I love the way it looks. I love the size and the ergonomics is better than I thought they would be, but I wasn't expecting the ergonomics to be great. The blade arrived hair slicing sharp on both parts of the blade. I'm very satisfied with my purchase (#07/50). I just hope I can get one in vintage blue for a decent amount less money than their website because that shade of blue and purple with patina looks amazing to me. With most knives I'm not into the loud and in your face colors, but with it's small size and modern looks I think this will look incredible in that "Vintage Blue". Heck, I imagine regular "PVD Blue" looks pretty darn good because this is a little knife that is made to standout in the crowd.
