My walnut mflb just arrived today and it looks gorgeous. Had I bought it on the mflb website I would have payed more than double the massdrop price to get it down to NZ so the wait was well worth it! Thanks for the drop (:

The issue could be Heartwood vs Sapwood.

The same tree/piece of wood has very different shades of wood depending on whether it's cut out of the heartwood or sapwood....

MarkThat is what I figured Mark. I have seen all three in person now and to be honest the only one that looks like the actual picture is the standard version (out of the ones I have seen)

Just got my Walnut one and I am thrilled to have it but I really don't understand why my box is so light compared to what they show online for the color walnut. Mine looks exactly like my friends who have the standard model...

mikerubCould you maybe post a picture? I'm waiting on the walnut model and I'm hoping it's just an anomaly in the woodgrain rather than a mixup with the orders.

xmasskeletonAfter comparing it to my friend's and using it after a while I can assure you it's Walnut and I love it. Wood color differs from order to order I am guessing. It's darker than the other but not stained looking like they show online. Would I prefer to have a darker box like they showed online? Yeah... but I'm not disappointed.

I got mine yesterday. Although the wait was pretty ridiculous, I'd say it was worth the $45 off MSRP.
