This resembles the Rolex explorer 2 very well . With a quality Swiss movement. A good logical look.
I picked up this GMT to match the clock in my Scottish Aviation Bulldog. Thommen has been making aviation instruments for years, and not just clocks. The planes I fly for a living use Thommen airspeed indicators.

As I get older, I started preferring watches that do not require me to put reading glasses to see the date. I love my Seikos but their date windows are completely useless for me. Fake or no fake, copycat or not, I'll go for a watch with a cyclops lens anytime. I wish more brands would use it.
It's not a bad watch from not a bad maker. However, before making a decision, I would check Steinhart GMT Ocean 39: smaller size -39mm, same movement ETA 2893-2, but Elaboré quality, great customer service. About $500 delivered to the US.

this Steinhart GMT Ocean 39 is a blast and quality for the price is insane! I wonder what can Revue Thommen bring more that Steinhart... it feels like the MRSP of this watch is a bit high. the pepsi aluminium is a blast!!!
Nicoo
These Revue Thommen watches are made under license by Grovana, who were building for Steinhart previously.
That's people always think of homage...that is why I got other model and got a lot of compliments everytime on my wrist.

Its a bit too heavy handed of an homage for my tastes.
Overpriced Rolex homage watch. If I want a Rolex looking watch I'd buy a copy from Ebay for 70 USD with Miyota movement that will last longer and service cheaper than this fake watch company.

7/10 troll comment, you would've gotten more bites but you gave it away with saying miyota will service cheaper/last longer than ETA. *golfclap*

I own a GMT Master II and really, the Revue Thommen is far better in terms of finishing! I don't like the white gold index of the ROlex, it is too shiny, I prefer stainless Steel, so I did exchange it to my friend. I a very happy! (do I get a 10/10 troll comment?)
Well I owned a GMT Master II and loved it. I'll never forget what a friend, another watch aficionado once remarked to me when he saw I was wearing one, "Class for the mass", he said... Mainly because for a chronograph they didn't measure up to Breitling , his favorite...Mine had no display back and was only rated to 200 meters for water resistance and had terrible lume. Gave it to my son after having it serviced (and re-lumed). One of the few watches that actually appreciates over time. I think I picked it up for $4 grand back in '90. The guy that serviced it said this model was now going between $6 & 8 grand... used... sorry to blather on but I did love that watch and this one brought back some nice memories... No, I wouldn't be ashamed to wear this GMT diver. Looks solid and I like the variations availible. Maybe... we'll see.

I couldn't resist calculating the effect of inflation on that. US$4k in 1990 is worth US$7.7k in 2018. So it might have appreciated... if you're lucky.

Well it's like they say, you can ask or say anything is worth something but you never really know what yours is worth until you sell it. Hey it beats a car over the same time period.... I think ;-)
Way to many Pepsi copycats our there now.
Well this is one way to not have to be on an AD waiting list for a GMT in either BLNO or BLRO that's as scarce as scarce can be, and at a fraction of the cost.

And if Rolex, who controls the supply to an AD, doesn't provide supply, gray sellers can't get the models most in demand. It's not like grays call Rolex for a delivery and ADs don't place orders for popular models, they get what Rolex sends them. Rolex doles out the most popular models to ADs instead of flooding the market, thus depriving grays access because there are fewer available to them. That keeps demand high, artificially, yes, but then we're back to economics and marketing.
rolex sales about a mil watches a yr, its not a supply chain issue, its just them being assholes.
What's the bezel on this? Fixed, diver, dual rotation (as it should be?)?
WilburTWildcat
Copied from the overview. :-)
  • Bi-directional rotating bezel
Once I heard something like: The good and the bad things about affordable watches: 1) They're affordable... 2) They're affordable...
If anyone is that desperate to own a Rolex, then I say: "Save up and buy a Rolex".

The point is, you should care! You will be the one walking around knowing that your watch is fake, and by extension you and everything you stand for are a fake too.
I am not advocating that anyone should buy a Rolex. I would much rather wear a real Seiko or Casio than a fake Rolex. BUT if you chose to wear a Rolex, have some self respect and make it real a real one.
BarryBogave
Absolutely.
But if you absolutely must wear a copy of a Rolex, save yourself some dosh and make it a cheap Chinese one...
attractive and very well priced.
