The boots pictured, which are stated to be the "Snuff" color, a medium brown, seem to be a different color than the leather swatch that is labelled "Snuff", which appears to be nearly black - can you confirm that the medium brown in the boots pictures are the snuff color and, if so, explain why it's nearly black in the swatch? Thank you.
dphowardSure, here's a piece from the description page:
"Please note that all colors will lighten considerably when stretched over the last to form the shoe. The sample model shown is made in Snuff Kudu. See the discussion thread for examples of footwear made in these colors. "
You can also take a look at the photos I posted at the start of the thread. Hope that helps!
i would be interested for sure but like the previous person said, the timing is a bit bad for this with the holidays. If this comes up in late Q1 or early Q2, I'll be all over it.
Won't help much, but I just wanted to say that I'd be joining this drop if I had any spending cash left over after Black Friday/Cyber Monday! The timing seems really unfortunate for this drop (and perhaps others around this time).
If it doesn't get funded this time, maybe Massdrop/Rider Boot Co. can keep this in their back pocket for early- to mid-2016...
I am wondering if it would be possible to get more information on the source of the leather. Is it being gathered in a sustainable manner (i.e. farming) or is the leather sourced from wild antelopes? Just thought it would be interesting to know the origin and ethnics of the leather, thats all.
MechnanI'd like to know the answer to this as well. I would imagine farming like they do with ostriches and alligators, but some confirmation would be nice.
MrsFrisYou would have to ask CF Stead about that, I'm a few too many people removed to know. I assume it's similar to what happens with ostritches, gators, etc.
M3NTALPersonally, I would go with the 10. I've had boots that were a bit tight so I could only wear thin socks with them, and I generally would prefer to do the latter.
anybody know if these have a stiff heal counter (like Alden Indy boots), or are they all-leather in the heel (like white's boots)? I prefer all-leather construction, as the boot shapes to the foot better over time...
The polls are used to generate excitement, and the results ignored? I can see the smoke not making it, but gaucho was number two? In any case you should try harder to get made up examples in order not to surprise your customers with the results.
EditedbyThe smoke was never a real option. That was added by a user, who unfortunately doesn't have access to the info about what colors we can pull from.
I went with only one of the two lighter colors since they are fairly similar and I wanted a variety of options. But like a said above, all are options if we have enough people. Like this post if you would *actually purchase* gaucho and I'll see what I can do.
Ron's back!
After the success of the Dundalk, I'm really excited to offer this new boot in a great material.
Regarding the colors: I picked some crowd favorites that gave a good spectrum of colors. That said, we could theoretically add more if we get enough commits. We need 6 of each color for them to go into production, so if these 3 get the 6 they need then we might be able to add more. See the images below for examples of what these look like on the final product.
