The latest from Rike Knife, the 803CH Flipper is making its official debut on Massdrop. Though this folder measures nearly 8.5 inches long, it doesn’t feel like it in the pocket Read More
Hello!
Yeah those Kizer drops are about the best simple deals they run, otherwise the best way to use Massdrop is for the unique things they do like the WE/FF collaborations, which are basically untouchable in build quality at their price point.
It may be a little overpriced, but it's a brand new model with a ti and carbon fiber frame lock handle, with a 4mm M390 blade . . . doesn't seem that far off to me. I'm not buying it, but I can see why someone would. Looks like a pretty dope knife to me.
SlobloIt is a work of minatre knife art. My wife carries it and uses it for light duty. Removing tags, opening letters, light cutting etc. I played with it for hours, to you know, break it in.
Ares78The CH 3504 I owned had one of the nicest factory edges I've ever seen. Crazy sharp and perfectly even grinds. It also dropped shut, and flipped amazingly well. I wouldn't worry about quality in production or design here, they're both excellent companies.
Ares78CH is more of a budget brand, but the quality has been good. Check out LuvThemKnives on YouTube. He has reviews on all their models. I had a couple and they were good quality.
I don't have any data to back this up but I think they most likely sell fewer gray knives than they do the colorful Anno's. That being said. Why only show 1 pic each of the colored knives? If I'm gonna spend over $200 I would like a few more close up pics.
This design is beautiful in its simplicity. And it is very efficient: in an era where there is a lot of flash but with most handles being 1.5 inches longer than their blades, Rike comes up with an elegant design with only a 0.8 inch difference. Efficient design and premium materials makes this one worth getting!
I wish they included what looks to be a proprietary tool for adjusting bearing tension. If I'm going to use this for an EDC, I will, at some point need to adjust the tension. I have had to on every other flipper I have owned.
Haha..."instant " Price drop from 260 to 199?
Stil an insane price. I like Rike knives, but 200$ for this one?? There are at liest 200 knives that i would buy first, before this one...
CrisTheGreatTell me one knife with similar specs. that you would buy before this and why? I looks to be better made than others in its price range. We'll see when it lands. I rolled the dice. The Chinese mid-techs (Rike, WE and others) are impressive in absolute terms and doubly so when you consider how much less most of them are compared to an equivalent knife made elsewhere. CNC machines and craft don't have political boundaries. Unfortunately, customer service often does. That is my only reservation.
The Drop was made in my mailbox today! Got my Blinkle, Rike 803CH (cute little CH logo on the backspacer).
Nice knife, Blade drops shut after adding a drop of super-lube to the detent ball and it's sharp enough to push cut receipt paper.
Only minor issues are, The jimping on the flipper tab is a bit aggressive so ur finger is gonna get sore after about 15 min of flipping.
Be sure to keep ur finger away from the lockbar as it will require a lot more pressure on the flipper tab, Resulting in premature boo boo on flipper finger.
Lastly , They cheated me out of a microfiber cloth! What is it with the Chinese not wanting to give you a napkin? lol
