Making its official debut on Massdrop, the Rike Knife M2 looks like something out of another dimension. At nearly 9 inches long, it’s got enough size for most cutting tasks you’ll come across Read More
According to Fedex, my Rike Knife M2 in Dark Gray has been shipped and is currently 78 Miles away away from me. Expected delivery says Monday. I'm hoping to have this sexy beast in my hands on Fri. or Sat.
It looks like someone held the corner of that piece with their finger tips and dipped it into the solution until it turned blue, except for the portion they were holding. : ) Maybe the piece just wasn’t cleaned very well before they anodized it. Massdrop was pretty good about it...they gave me a partial refund and I kept the knife.
DougFLA123I guess that's possible too, who knows? :)
Either way, i actually like it. Between that and the mottling in the purple groove... It adds character 👍
Why isn't the dark grey an option? It looks the best to me with the blue accents. Do you guys think the option here is the same thing, or not?
Dark grey YT:
Yeah, I'm hoping it's the same one. From these pics on massdrop it appears like it's the black wash, but mixed with the blue hardware. I guess on the other sites it appears a little darker like in the vid.
JaegerDYeah it’s certainly a unique design probably not attractive to everyone, but I love it. The build quality is pretty impressive and everything aligns/fits perfectly. Hadn’t heard of HEA prior to finding it.
I recently bought into the 1504A and 1507S drops (like a month or so ago). The fit and finish of both are impeccable. I will say the detent on the 1504A is pretty stiff, but not enough to detract from the piece.
MD is pretty good about customer service. Before you buy anything it's best to do your research, sometimes they miss things on the description or flub some details. Also if you're like me and have a habit of immediate disassembly, make sure it won't void the warranty. Disassembly makes RMA on this kinda stuff infinitely harder.
Massdrop's customer service has fixed every issue I've had. They are not fast in their response times but imo they value us and understand it's our hard earned money that keeps the lights on.
Notsurewhyibother‘Medford thick’?! Lol! Medford products earned my respect operating flawlessly in extreme conditions. I was a Medford fan for a very long time And carried an Arktika daily for a year. That’s a serious chunk of metal, for sure. I became a fan of thinner knives and prefer them almost always but I still come back to the Medford when the fecal material is in motion and on a vector to intersect with the stand-alone electrical/mechanical ventilation machine!
Not my cup of tea, but I appreciate the design details, like how the flipper curve flows into the finger cut and the jimping transitions into the handle cuts. The blade cutout line transitions smoothly with the grind line to go all the way to the spine - which has a subtle curve. The point is fierce-looking. I just don’t care for the handle’s look, despite how nicely the lines of the blade flow into the handle detailing. Truly elegant design in the blade and it’s nice to see real design skill.
Making its official debut...
Why is Drop so lazy? Stop recycling your descriptions. Nearly two year ago since the knife was first offered here. You are even using the name Massdrop in the write up.
I have the M3 and it is very nice with the exception of the G10 scale looks bad. Cheap plastic look that does not pair well with the nice anodizing on the titanium. I guess this is a step up in materials with the full titanium handle and better steel.
