This is way too much for a printer that is not that great and requires a lot of set up and maintenance, or atleast that is my experience with it.

I had a new R1 for about a week and returned it as defective. Their support is slow and not helpful. PS: I am an engineer and wasn't afraid to fix issues on my own but the machine at least needs to function properly out of the box.

I'm really tempted to buy this because it would allow me to make cleaner looking prototypes for colostomy inventions I've been working on, but $700 is a lot of money....That would be almost everything I have saved right now.

I have one of these and it is an awesome printer. I have the pre-R1, the one they sent to kickstarters and I love it. The few flaws they had are fixed for this version. This is making me feel like I payed too much for mine even though it is worth every penny. I wish I could take advantage of this.
