JoeTorantoWhat are you talking about? I've shaved with this razor many times and it's a great performer. One of the best razors that have been through my den and certainly one of the best for the price. For a modern razor, it performs excellently.
I have this very razor; my first sample came with a burr and the company immediately shipped out another to make it right. The razor itself is a superb example of it's kind. Using plates 2 and 3 I get great audible feedback when hair is being removed. Plate 1 is easier on the face than most DE razors. I haven't gone higher than 3 because my skin is sensitive. I'd recommend this to fellow DE shavers.
Thanks, I'm an idiot :) It didn't occur to me at all that the whole plate could be flipped around and both edges receive the same gap (and the arrows on the illustration actually point behind the plate, not on second edge).
UsernameWasTakenDon't feel stupid. I though the same thing, that one edge was different than the other. The illustration does not make it clear that you have to flip sides to get the other rating. This is, of course, a much better system, and is commendable, but the description is not clear, imho.
The problem with this metal, which is also known as "Zamak" is that once the plating wears thin enough, the base metal will corrode. It's a cheap, inexpensive metal. That's why the stainless version is more expensive. You get what you pay for.
This is the last update before we shut down Rockwell Model T folks, the Chinese factory will be making the razor out of rubber and we will need to increase the final price to $200 bucks, So please all jump on board and wait another 2 years for delivery of the worlds first rubber adjustable safety razor brought to you from the team @ Rockwell Razors.
This is not our first rodeo and won't be our last.
Hi This is Douglas Smythe and we actually make our razor without crowdfunding.
I'm announcing publicly here that I will [removed] the Rockwell guy for ripping all of us off.
