unmeatyYes this is the same product. Please let me know if you have any specific questions about Tim's review. In general, because Tim was not used to reviewing audiophile products, he missed the heavy bass that he was used to.

SantaCruzAudioWhich is more than strange to me..
Massdrop has the MSRP listed as $795. The link thru https://www.pcmag.com/review/345698/santa-cruz-audio-sc1000 had the MSRP listed at $1,150. Yet your own website https://santacruzaudio.com/collections/frontpage/products/sc1000 has the MSRP listed at $585. This is obviously not a Massdrop-exclusive issue on pricing discrepancy (nor likely their fault in any way).
I am very turned off personally to the idea of a 'floating msrp' that ends up changing so frequently and being falsely inflated to give the appearance of a larger discount being given etc. I can't begin to express my confusion as well as frustration with companies that do this. I perhaps would redact my earlier comment about the company and their dedication to the consumer but I have zero interaction personally with them yet beyond the interactions I've witnessed in this thread.
Buyer beware of a company that seems to be anything but transparent with its potential customers.
I have not yet seen or heard this product in person nor have I dealt with their customer service and don't have any experience with their quality control etc. These might just be the bees knees. But come on now SantaCruzAudio! Hopefully I'm just jumping the gun on this and misinterpreting the situation but I would like to see this ambiguous MSRP issue resolved, whether thats simply by clarifying what I have mistakenly surmised, or by making an effort to align the pricing info across any and all sales platforms to be transparent and honest for the customer and their experience.
Thanks in advance for any clarification etc!
ChumbWumbaYou are correct. Santa Cruz Audio is currently out of sync with Massdrop. I will notify them and get this corrected. When we first offered this product, it was designed to outperform anything available at that time (2016). I believe that we accomplished this and we set our price based on other top tier products. Since that time, our competitors have lowered there prices and we have been forced to reduce our list price as well. The current Massdrop price is very close to our cost and represents and extremely good deal. I'm sorry if this has caused confusion.

SantaCruzAudioI appreciate you clarifying the pricing discrepancy on the product! It looks like a great set with unique features certainly..gives them a unique value proposition in my mind that could justify the price as long as the sound is cohesive and the dynamics tight. I'll be watching this drop for sure. Thank you for the quick and efficient response and explanation!
