Hey guys, anyone here from Finland who happened to join this drop last time it was online? Massdrop fucked up and I got your package sitting here on my table..
IronSunsetscalesspending time and effort to correct someone else's mistake is a big deal..
Im definite such wholesome gestures return back to those who care to do them in the first place.
tooooncYeah exactly, this can happen to anyone but it's a potential problem when you ship overseas. @aurochs_angels did you get anything in the meantime?
I don't own an arduino, but will buy one for this drop. Is there a minimum arduino that we should buy to make sure this works? I was looking at the arduino 101
I want one for universal use in the future, this will just be a project. Not going to have a dedicated arduino attached to this for the rest of eternity. I want to use the arduino for other projects as well.
swirle13i would expect it to work, just a real time clock, soil moisture, and a motor libraries. I wouldnt expect those to be incompatible. :-)
worst case, you modify the libraries to work, or find arduino 101 libraries to work.
If this kit uses the DHT 11 Temperature and Humidity sensor I do not recommend using it for growing. I have attempted to use a similar kit for some plant growing and the DHT 11 sensor is not accurate enough for a grower looking for tight temperature readings. https://learn.adafruit.com/dht/overview
Made my order a few days ago but after reading these comments I have decided to cancel it. I would really like this product but I'm not going to wait half a year for it.
I think solenoid valve to control water is practical solution rather than using water pump system. We can connect valve to tap directly and then on/ off based on the conditions.
the negative comments are beginning to worry me. Can the sensors provided be replaced/substituted with better/more accurate ones. I haven't been given a delivery date yet. Is it possible to decline after a drop has finished?
