About a year ago I was in the search for a new pack for an Alaska sheep hunt. I ordered packs of similar size from kuiu, exo mountain, and seek outside for an informal comparison. I also wanted to take a look at the stone glacier and kifaru packs, both companies with excellent packs, but wasn't able to receive them in time. I loaded each pack exactly with the gear I planned for my 10-day hunt. This included my rifle and ammunition but no water and food. Including the rifle turned out critical because attaching it successfully to the pack can be tricky. My total weight for the test was about 28 lbs. In the case of the kuiu and exo mountain I could never get my gear and rifle secure enough to prevent side to side swaying of the pack, or feel like it fit secure and firmly on my back. Most of sheep hunting is long hrs walking up and down and I needed the pack to feel right. The Revolution pack fit me like a glove. I mean the gear and gun just settled perfectly. I was amazed at how well it fit. This might just be me but I was sold. Comparing the packs side by side with the same gear load was priceless. The pack turned out to be as expected on my hunt and I had zero issues. Seek outside this year introduced the new precipice bag and I just bought one. For me this is is a better configuration for hunting. The panels on the side make it a dream to transport rifle, bow, tripod, or spotting scope. These panels will also hold other types of gear as well. For an external frame pack this is the best I have ever come across. You won't be dissapointed. Hope this helps. Thx.

rp59@rp59 - thanks for the review of this pack. I've been very impressed with their packs. It's cool that you checked out similar packs at the same time and decided on this. Do you have any photos to share of you with this pack?
