Seiko’s SKX line of divers is nothing short of classic. The dial, with its large lumed hands and hour markers, is easy to read, while the 120-click unidirectional bezel with coin edge offers a simple method of timing a dive. Meanwhile, the screw-down crown and caseback ensure up to 200 meters of water resistance, and a polyurethane accordion strap recalls Seiko’s original line of divers. But there are plenty of other design elements—such as the option for a stainless steel bracelet—worth admiring from the safe confines of an office desk.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of from the following: SKX007K1, SKX009K1, SKX013K1, SKX007K2 (+ $10), SKX009K2 (+ $10), and SKX009J1 (+ $30).
The watch is equipped with caliber 7S26 automatic movement, a 21-jewel movement that vibrates at 21,600 beats per hour and boasts a 40-hour power reserve. It doesn’t offer hacking seconds and cannot be hand-wound, though it does offer a quick-set day/date feature—simply turn the protected crown, at 4 o’clock, in either direction to set the day-and-date window, which is positioned at 3 o’clock. Also worth noting are the Hardlex crystal, the syringe-style hour hand, arrow-style minute hand, and the lollipop seconds hand.
