What is the nation of production for this watch? I will to order two if they are produced in Japan. The Seiko I am currently wearing was purchased 49 year ago while in the U.S. Navy. It is the perfect watch since servicing by Stephen Klein in For Collins, CO.
remydaisyremydaisy, I had to laugh when I read that you purchased a Seiko 49 years ago; on 17 Sept 1967 I was able to board the USS Castor AK1 in DaNang Bay, South China Sea; my brotherin-law was a Lt AssistantSupO (formerly a ChiefPO), I was a Marine 2ndLt (formerly a SSgt) . Anyway, the ship had to pull out of anchorage due to rocket attacks but returned because it still had medical supplies to off load for the White Elephant at MACV. Too long a story of how I learned of the ships presence in the area, and how I was able to make the visit; however, I purchased a Seiko because it had a black face and luminous #'s and hands It provided me with years of reliable service, but it took a beating from the lifestyle of a Marine. When I saw the MD opportunity I leaped at the opportunity to renew acquaintenship with Seiko; almost went for the Pepsi, however I prefer Coca Cola so opted for the black. Nearing 81, this Seiko will not be so roughly treated, looking forward to the reunion!!
WillielumplumpI was recently out of boot and a member of the re-commissioning crew of the U.S.S.Somers DDG-34. I am mistaken, the watch was purchased in 69, prior to getting on Vietnamese gunboats as an advisor.
