Do we have any idea on the freight company Massdrop uses for this watch? DHL for me up in Toronto, Canada will ding me for an additional duty of approx $35.
At that price I can do better?
OjibwayBobI'm in the same boat in Winnipeg, the last watch I received from Massdrop was a total of $85 cad extra, I can get this watch at Long Island watch for the same price, $8 flat rate, and delivered in a week.
Lionheart1967That would be the better route. If Massdrop used US post you still would have to wait at least a month for this. I want on of these to mod a bit and cost is always a bonus to keep low.
OjibwayBobI find DHL charges about 15% to Canada + massdrops shipping so add that up and see if it's still a deal, and also if you're like me it's hard to wait a month for a new watch in the mail! My last purchase was the Victorinox diver and the total was $650 landed which I thought was still ok, and it's an awesome watch!!
Lionheart1967It is very bad to wait on a watch if you are a WIS. The more you wait the more you are likely to buy another to compensate. I ended up buying 3 in a month from massdrop lol
Pedagogue I was wondering what company they use to ship. Last month I received 2 spinnaker wactches, both were shipped via DHL with a $35 duty each. My Orient Bambino was by US post and did not receive a duty charge.
OjibwayBobI'd like to know what shipping method will be used as well for Canada. My preference is to have it shipped by USPS over DHL, UPS, or FedEx. Can someone confirm the shipping method for this drop?
OjibwayBobYes, US post there is no duty. It would be nice if someone from Massdrop would answer our questions as there seems to be a bunch of Canadians eager to join this drop.
