I've had my Seki grooming kit for a few weeks now, and I'm pretty happy with it.
Before you even open the box, it's obvious care went into packing it. What lies within the box does not look like a grooming tool kit. It looks like an expensive wallet. The leather is immaculate, the stitching flawless, and everything is perfectly straight, square and true with not an unfinished edge in sight. If Seki made wallets, I'd probably buy one sight-unseen on the strength of this case alone.
Within the case, the tools are well laid out, not jammed in together. The two larger tools are retained by snap straps to help keep them in place. The only plastic to be seen anywhere is on the handle end of the diamond-dust nail file and inside the finger loops of the nose hair scissors.
The tools themselves are first class. The levers on both nail clippers are cast aluminum alloy, much stiffer than the steel stamping almost all other clippers use, and they feel much more positive as a result. The jaws on the clippers do not line up perfectly, but they're close enough. Even though they perhaps are not ground perfectly flush, they cut more cleanly and with less effort than any other pair of nail clippers I have used, with no splinters left hanging on the nail edge.
The jaws on the tweezers in my pack also were not quite true, and in this case it was enough to be a problem that might prevent getting a grip on, for example, a small splinter — which is probably the single most common thing I use fine tweezers for. No problem; a couple of minutes' work on a diamond hone cleaned that right up. (At a pinch you could probably even do it on the diamond-dust nail file. Never underestimate the potential uses of a diamond-dust file, even a small one.)
However, the real treasure in this set is the nail nippers, something that's harder to find than you might think. Seki's are perfect. The return spring folds out of the way when you're not using them, so as not to strain the snap-fitted loop that holds the nippers in place in the case, and the jaws are as smooth as glass and perfectly aligned. These nippers are a joy to use. I have a badly damaged left foot that makes it impossible to actually see what I'm doing when trimming the nails on the smallest two toes I still have on that foot, and trying to trim them by feel using a regular nail clipper is a risky and often painful process. With the Seki nippers, it is easy; I still can't see, but I can feel exactly what I'm doing.
Two thumbs up for this grooming kit from Seki, probably the last such kit I'll ever need.

You wouldn't think that the quality of nail clippers would matter, but if you owned these, you'd know just how wrong that is. Every once in a while you come across something that's so sublime that you crave for everything else to possess the same magic. These belong to that category. They aren't really nail clippers so much as they are nail trimmers. What's the difference? Nail clippers are the $0.99 ones you get at the gas station. They get the job done, but so would a chisel and a hammer. Nail trimmers glide through your nail almost like a hot knife though butter. They leave you not only with trimmed nails, but the satisfaction that you can only get from being able to marvel at how well a tool does what it was built for. Buy these and thank me later. You're welcome.

No doubt a bit pricey, but definitely HIGH quality. One thing I would mention is the case. You have to take extra care when removing some of the tools or else they may come in contact with the zippers which could damage the finish at the very least, at the worst it maybe possible for the edges to become damaged therefore leading to reduced performance. If the rating were just for the tools themselves I would have given a 5 but I deducted one due to the case. Would still definitely recommend.

After years of using other brands, I was amazed how solid these tools of the nails felt in my hands, a lot more comfortable than any others, and a lot sharper as well. They feel precise. They are simply a joy to use in what normally can be a tough task. I would recommend Seki nail cutters to everyone as they are the best tools for the job.

Honest error or deception? THE CASE IS NOT REAL LEATHER
The case is advertised as real leather. It's not. I found out after giving them as gifts to my two sons. They found out when trying to personalize the cases, thinking they were leather. Massdrop offered me a full refund if I returned the items or a 20% refund for not being leather. The manufacturer is selling me leather cases for $20/case. The difference between the 20% refund and the $20 to get the case advertised is about $7/unit. That seven dollars times two, or $14, cost Massdrop a lot of future business. I won't be buying from them again. Also, if you purchased one of these, reach out to Massdrop to get a full or partial refund for the mistake.

rhandlerThere is literally no occurrence of the word "leather" at all in the description so where are you getting that they are advertising real leather? I mean even in the Siki product video of this kit on YouTube they say synthetic leather.

I was disappointed by this set. Are the clippers better than the bargain bin ones at drug stores? Absolutely! But are they worth the many, many multiples in price of the latter? Probably not. Perhaps I received a dud set, but mine were a bit dull. And those plastic scissors- what a disappointment.

Good quality set!!!
I felt silly at first for spending this much on nail clippers but I really like these and I'm glad I did. I can tell they are going to last and they just work perfectly and feel very well made. Cuts your nails cleanly, does not tear them like most available cheap sets. Trimming scissors are super cheap build quality compared to the rest of the set.
