I recently got this headset, and wow is it good. My only issue is when certain people talk on discord, I can hear a really high pitched ringing. I fiddled with a bunch of settings, computer audio and discord, and nothing seems to solve the issue. It is primarily if not all in my right ear only. Is there something wrong with my headset, or was that ringing always there I can just hear it cause the headset is THAT good? I haven't had any issues with any other application, though I have yet to test if I can hear the ringing on a different version of discord, say on my xbox instead of my pc. Only other issue I've had is occasional static, but I can't tell if it's from the headset or the show/game/etc.

"Sennheiser HD8 DJ, HD7 DJ, and HD6 DJ - These were a bit of a head-scratcher. They're far from neutral, but they might be a good match for working DJs. The bass is powerful and tight, and the treble is very non-fatiguing due to a big notch out of a region centered at 6kHz. Sennheiser claims these cans were voice by working pro DJs. My problem is that I'm not a DJ so I really don't know how to evaluate this EQ for the intended use; I can say, however, that they aren't neutral enough for audiophile listeners to use for listening pleasure. I'll also note that the HD6 DJ is supposedly designed for studio use while mixing, but with a frequency response not that dissimilar to the HD8 DJ and HD7 DJ I have to question if it's really a good headphone for that application. The overall character is quite similar for all three cans, and quite far from neutral. Sorry, don't think I can review these cans in the context of DJs, and don't think they're worth reviewing for audiophiles."

...Tyll does not dictate anything, but his impressions and measurements have substance since he has got 60 years worth of subject matter expertise in the industry. Is it end all be all? Nope. But one can do a lot worst when researching a potential purchase.
Then again, there are the 60%+ or so of headphone market that thinks Monster/Beats are the cat's meow of "audiophile" sound LOL Regardless, I will read the study and see what shakes out.
I think he was in a bad mood that day + put off by the look or some funky mix of whatever factors there.
